Lovely place to stay with a great breakfast.

Access to room was poor,lift needed. Room was badley serviced.Would not recommend.

It is an old building but clean and well maintained. There are no staff on site, but when I rang up to check on access, I got immediate help and a call back from their head office, so was impressed by that. A continental breakfast was left in the room for us, including plenty of milk, left in the refridgerator.

There was no staff on site. I may have misplaced instructions that were sent to me, but I was not prepared for such a deserted arrival. It worked out in the end and it was a convenient place from which to visit surrounding areas of interest.

Comfortable double room (number 3) and enough space for two of us for 2 -3 nights. It faces the road but the noise wasn't oppressive. Breakfast is a hamper with a decent amount of continental products plus items in the fridge. It wasn't clear that these items were included in the booking and worked that out from reading previous comments. I had to contact the hotel for arrival advice and that's when I found out there was a fridge in the room. This could be made clearer on the site. Arrival is a key code to the front door then another code by the room door to access the room key. The front door is awkward to open. You turn the dial anticlockwise so your hand is turning onto the frame of the door and takes a bit of doing to open. The code should have been sent on the morning of arrival but didn't receive this until I contacted the hotel that afternoon and an hour before we arrived. A couple of hours later when we were settled into the room, I received a message through Hotels.com asking when we would be arriving. Whilst the communication can be better and the front door is a faff, the hotel is in good location, comfortable and the staff you come across are friendly.

Great choice for 5-night stay in Berwick - I paid a bit more for a larger double room and appreciated the space and furnishings. Great location, well-appointed room and very comfortable bed. Although it's self-check-in, the staff are available on phone and text and very helpful. Continental breakfast hamper and fridge in room were a nice bonus.

clean room/website said there was a bar and restaurant but these had shut down/outside looked nothing like the images

Quiet and clean

There were no staff at all. Very basic and noisy from the room next to us. Needs updating. Also website still has that it is a restaurant and bar downstairs and it's not. For £5 more we could have gone to the premier inn 2 doors down. Won't be staying again.

Clean tidy and comfortable. There are local shops not far from property and restaurants too. Staff are very friendly as well.

Some good shops nearby and restaurant in walking distance of the hotel. Good if you drive different links. Also got good public transport links train st not far.

Yes but did not use them as left the area very quickly.

Wasn’t made clear it has no reception or amenities and the building doesn’t lend its self to slow sensor lights. It was an accident waiting to happen. Room was ok, however wasn’t aware it was continental breakfast only. Had to leave early so no time to faff making tea. Curtains are not light proof and room was lit up like Blackpool illuminations.

The room was compact but comfortable. The only thing for me was the musty smell in the room. The breakfast hamper was nice with good products, the beds were comfortable. Nice furnishings in the room too

Easy to check in, great location, exceptionally friendly staff

This historic hotel has loads of character and is a marvellous central location. I would suggest that it needs some decorative TLC but my room was large and with 2 huge floor to ceiling windows that looked out onto the main street. Room and ensuite were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I met some of the hospitality staff and they were welcoming and cheerful. I would definitely return.

Its a strange feeling as its an unmanned hotel which I was not expecting, so nobody is there at all leaving you feeling very out of the loop. The orange juice was way passed its sellby date and made me feel quite ill. They let me check in a bit early for a small additional fee which was very helpful

The room was basically just dirty, dust on everything, carpets hadn’t been vacuumed, the bathroom floor was dirty. When I arrived there were no lights in the bedroom apart from lamp which also affected the bathroom this was somehow resolved after a few hours.
