Lovely hotel with very helpful staff and quality food. Lovely location. Will return.

Wonderful hotel, fabulous situation great location. Perfect for a stay in Christchurch. Staff were very hospitable. Lauren Jane and Sam were incredible. The only thing we need to watch is keeping the public toilet clean it lets them down. Also miss having the touches like tablecloth's at dinner in a separate restaurant that used to be. Also, the fish knife is having fish and the steak knife they're having steak. Also missed seeing the Porter at the door to be able to help in with luggage. Just those little fine touches are missed. Again making sure a glass of white wine is chilled enough is imperative. All these things are minor and the majority of the things they have right They also had a new lady on the podium as you went to the restaurant with the dark hair. We arrived on a Saturday and she was incredible. Totally engaging on top of her game, incredibly good maître D. She's so outstanding any hotel would be headhunting her. She makes a great benchmark for training new staff she will go a long way for sure! We look forward to our next stay at The Captains Club very much... well done !!

Fab stay, lovely breakfast. Very comfortable bedrooms (shame there was a disco at the sailing club next door!) Would highly recommend and loved the 3 bed suite as a family of 5

Such a lovely hotel , amazing view of the river , was given a upgrade wow it was a 2 bedroom apartment floor to ceiling window in lounge to relax and watch the boats sail by what more could we ask for . The food was all delicious, we had breakfast , lunch and dinner , staff were all very friendly . The hydropool in spa was relaxing everywhere was clean . There were a couple of niggles in the room , the bed was making creaking noises every movement which was a bit annoying so maybe the bedstead was loose ? But other than that it was very comfortable to sleep in , the rooms were incredibly warm so had to open windows couldn’t see any heating on anywhere , one bedside lamp wasn’t working , one of the bathroom sink plunger plugs was very hard to let water out when sink was full it worked eventually , and after a day everytime we opened the room door it started to stick and had to pull door towards us first in order for it to release to get in , all these are easily fixable so we didn’t complain as we were only there for 2 days and we had a lovely stay and would defiantly stay there again

We love staying here. Beautiful location. Staff very attentive and look after you at every opportunity. The rooms are spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable.

Small hotel, quiet, very comfy bed, excellent location, good choice at breakfast, friendly staff.

Reception staff were exceptional

Shower in tub should have bar to hang on to while exiting & entering. Very dangerous as is.

Accommodation is expensive but excellent. Restaurant service could have been more relaxed. Location is superb alongside the river. Restaurant is overpriced ! Having said that we will be back because of the excellent location and the fabulous suite we had.

As always the Captains Club hotel was excellent!

Had a really good one night stay, food was lovely and a nice friendly atmosphere throughout. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful going out of their way when the spa shut earlier than we were told allowing us to use it
