I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful and enjoyed sitting outside at the rear. There's no problem parking. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The only criticism I have is, about the shower room. It needs something to put your toiletries on. There is a small glass shelf above the wash basin, but that is taken up by the complimentary toiletries and 2 glasses. Even without them it's only a small shelf. I had to put my toilet bag on the floor. The breakfast was enjoyable. Not a large buffet, but it was sufficient. The full breakfast was very nice. I would stay again.

Great place to stay, staff were excellent, room was amazing

A lovely old mansion undergoing renovation and upkeep in keeping with it's age. Scaffolding on the outside wall which made the entrance rather difficult to find especially as the sign was rather small. Lovely room, stone which kept it cool (much appreciated) but of course no double glazing which made it noisy from the families shouting and drinking with the children screaming and running, as they do! Actually the adults were louder than the children! Bed was comfy, room had both a fan and a heater, towels were plentiful and shower, when I worked out how to get hot water, was good. Lovely sitting area, plenty of parking so overall, recommended

We stayed in the lodgings that’s part of the old lodge . There’s no parking not easy to find. Our room was number 29. Upon entering the carpet is filthy the room was covered in dust there was hair in the bath. The velux window blind was broken. The main window did not close properly the window didn’t open properly because of the guttering. We booked 2 rooms for 6 people but only got a double bed in each.

On arrival the staff were lovely. We stayed in the white swan. The bedding was spotless. The room is tied and in need of decorating. There's a smell of damp and unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable opening the windows as we were on the ground floor, which is directly onto the street. We've stayed in the hotel before, which we enjoyed. But unfortunately we won't stay in the white swan again!

I was in room 10 which was very nice but it was next to the kitchen so you could hear the extractor up until about 8 pm also you couldn’t have your widow open during this time. The rest of my stay was perfect, breakfast choice and quality very good ,evening meal very good, staff excellent and ample parking. Outside at the rear was a lovely large garden with plenty of seating for drinks. This was my second visit this year and I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful lodge. We stayed in the annex a short walk from the lodge. Staff were lovely and friendly. The grounds were a nice place to relax with a drink. Breakfast was really good ( full English breakfast). Proprietary said they like to employ young students to work weekends which we noticed. Nice to see the young crowd.

Jeg har tidligere overnattet på Old Lodge, og så frem til ha med mine venner dit. Skuffelsen var veldig stor da vi ankom og fikk beskjed om at vi skulle overnatte i en annen bygning i nærheten. Det var ikke gitt beskjed på forhånd, og hele poenget med oppholdet i Malton var overnattingen på nettopp Old Lodge. Betjeningen var tydelig på at beskjed var gitt, og selv om jeg viste henne bekreftelsen og at det IKKE sto noe om en annen lokasjon hjalp ikke det. Advarsel til alle som booker her: dere kan bli henvist til et skuffende lokale nede i veien uten at dere får beskjed. Det var en skikkelig nedtur!

We stayed in one of the White Swan rooms and it was perfect for what we needed. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfy. The staff were lovely and so friendly. We will definitely stay again

Great location for everything

Didn’t have breakfast but we were allowed to go early and park in the car park Receptionist Lyndsey was excellent very good with people

In room 1 . Bed does not fit as room not large enough. Banged knee going around. Mirror in bathroom at side of sink. Difficult to shave. Poor selection of fruit at breakfast.

The property itself desperately needs significant investment, restoration and renovation. Reception and bar staff friendly on arrival. We were initially given room 5 - it had a double and 2 single beds and was filthy. Dripping liquid on the bedside table (not a stain, just not cleaned), no valance on the dirty/stained divan, handle missing from the chest of drawers. The furniture wasn't arranged optimally. Overall, it had a feel of a care home you'd be put in if you weren't nice to your kids! I requested a room change, which was offered with no quibbles by a reception staff member. We were moved to room 8, which was markedly better, but still not great. Real old world styling, but needs upkeep - peeling wallpaper, a badly repaired 4 poster bed, nowhere to plug the kettle in unless you put it on the floor, a small TV with no Smart capabilities (a luxury, I know), with a really poor digital service - turned off continuously randomly. The bathroom clearly had drain issues and had a foul odour. The saving grace of this stay was how nice the staff were. The breakfast was lovely, including the service. The cleaning staff need a good shake up and major investment & effective preventative mainentance is in great need.

I was in the Old Lodgings 5 miss walk down the road. Very thin walls, loud party on 1st night kept me up to early hours. Generally could hear everyone moving around. WiFi was off over 12 hours 1 day. Cleaner didn't empty bin 1 day. Pretty good Value for money though & good overall location

Our room was in the Old Swan,it is a property that the Old Lodge must own. It's a few minutes walk from the lodge.It was ok but wouldn't stay again. Breakfast was lovely,fresh fruit, croissants, everything cooked to order. The only niggle was that we went for a drink in the lounge about 9 o clock,and it was just staff stood there ,one was swearing,which I don't think was acceptable in a posh establishment and while guests were present . Check in staff were lovely,but we won't be staying again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We arrived and walked down to a room in another building , it was a dirty, poorly maintained disgrace, smashed window in the room , cobwebs , pint peeling g , lights hanging out if the ceiling and stains on the floor … SO we asked for a better room it was room 4 , ignoring the noise from in the bar the peeling wall paper and black mould and flaking paint it was ok ! Oh the bed was a 4 poster but not actually built more leaving together. The shower was pointless the smell from the drains horrendous. We would have complained but when we got back after an evening’s entertainment we came back to staff brawling and shouting at each other somewhere behind reception so gave up. It is OK for one night for travelling purposes

This hotel is well located in Malton . I believe it is currently undergoing improvements which it certainly needs . The staff were all lovely, food very average .
