Dogs friendly lodge. I do appreciate people in the UK treat their dogs as families. We saw a lot of friendly dogs in the lodge. What a great experience. The breakfast is nice and the receptionist is enthusing to deliver help.

Lovely Staff, Very peaceful

The staff where amazing and so friendly the King's head pub was brilliant food and excellent staff

Understaffed on arrival. Had to wait 10 minutes to check-in as only one member on who was serving in the coffee shop. However staff were generally helpful. Convenient location for both Keswick and Grasmere/Ambleside. Rooms very clean though bed was harder than I’m used to. The continental breakfast was delicious with unlimited barista-made coffee. I would stay again in the future. Very reasonably priced in a lovely part of the world.

The lady I spoke to on first arrival was very pleasant. I had informed the place that I was bringing 2 dogs, I was put in the very furthest room meaning carrying the extra doggy luggage took several difficult trips. The room was ok except for the fact that it had no windows, just a skylight. So no view of the lovely countryside, in fact no view at all. It was a very hot few days but the only fresh air came from the skylight. It was a precarious climb on the bed to open it. The noise from the traffic on the busy road kept me awake most of the nights. It was very loud.

Excellent breakfast. full English breakfast bookable at kings head (extra charge) but we did not need it.

Great location and nice room

Lovely little hotel in an ideal spot, not too far from Keswick, but far enough for quiet. Plenty of walks near by and a good base to set up from to get around. We did take our dogs, and the hotel was very welcoming. The only issue we had was the car park was littered with dog poo and it was a battle to not stand in it. Had this not been an issue, we would have provided 5 stars all round.

Signs for disabled parking could be better. If you are looking for a large room you won't get it here, but it was the right size for us. Glad we were 'upgraded' as think original room would have been too small. If you have a disability make sure you say something as no lift.

Ideal base for a few days hiking, particularly in the area of Thirlmere & Helvellyn from Swirls. We weren’t in the hotel too much due to hiking, but more than adequate after a tiring day in the fells. Room was comfortable, if a little small (but there are different choices of room type, so you book for your needs!). Clean & well presented. Comfy bed, great amenities for drinks & snacks. Continental breakfast was ideal. Kings Head inn 2 min drive down the road & highly recommend for a post hike reward of beer & a good evening meal! Staff at accommodation were lovely, good conversation, professional, quick check in, always about if you wanted to make a purchase from the cafe. Would definitely recommend for the type of trip we had planned. One little improvement would be maybe the suggestion of some drying facilities for wet hiking gear….. it is the Lakes after all, we did struggle with drying our boots for the next day. Not the end of the world though and would book again either way!

The only fault I would have is that the bed was uncomfortable and there was some road noise at night, otherwise everything was excellent.

There ia not transport and no food in the hotel and for food v need to go to other hotel its far v need to wlak for 20 mins

De lodge is simpel en lijkt vooral gericht opwandelaars. Veel geluidshinder van dichtbijgelegen doorgangswegen,

Attractive property but rooms on the small side.Close to road so could be noisy in early morning.

The price is the best part. No bar or restaurant but cheap, clean and modern.
