This hotel was vey horrible. The bed and quilt and bed are full of stain. The room, corridor and carpet are very dirty, they are full of sour smell (like vomit after drunk), the heater and exhaust fan are dusty, and a lot of louse and ants. 100% not recommend!!!!

I would not stay here again. Sheets were torn, pillows flat, absolutely no circulation. Even a small fan would have made a diffrrece

Great city centre base. Friendly helpful staff, breakfast and dinner great portions and well cooked. First class chef.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.The room was a little small as nowhere to put clothes and the tv did not work No plug for the sink.Ok for one night Breakfast was good.I did not come by car or use the bar.If I had bee staying for more than one night may have gone elsewhere.Not alot of ventilation.Had to openthw window on arrival.If it had been earlier in.the week when temperatures around 32c would have been unbearable

The hotel was in a very convenient location for visiting the Shambles and city core. We found the room itself to be a bit rough in terms of amenities. The stall shower was on the small side for me, but the hot water came quickly and didn’t run out. Our biggest complaint was that the TV signal was not stable (kept glitching out) and the room never really cooled down in the evening (no A/C). Granted, we were there during a record heat wave. The full English breakfast was large and well prepared.

Location was great for our visit, very central, 5 minutes walk to Jorvik, The Shambles, Clifford Tower etc. Decided to eat at the Inn’s restaurant on the first night (a Monday) & ordered basic pizzas (Margarita / Hawaiian). After around a 50 minute wait (with no staff interaction), we were advised they had run out of pineapple! Took around an hour & 10 mins in total to receive our food (which was not good considering we had 3 hungry children with us). Our room was at the front with nice views along the street, but the windows had single glazing, so it was noisy from the street below. There was also a noisy fan in the room, which upon investigation had been packed with paper / cardboard, presumably to reduce the noise, but think this could have been a fire hazard, so we turned it off. Nice place, but it needs a little attention, and the wait for food was excessive.

Really helpful and friendly staff, with clean though fairly basic rooms. The shower setup wasn’t ideal because of the door design and limited space. It was a little noisy until around midnight, but that’s to be expected for accommodation above a pub. The location was great overall, and it’s a good option if you’re looking for somewhere convenient and reasonably priced.

The room is just a nice size for a single traveller and the layout of the bathroom was much easier to move around in. The location of being just outside the city centre helped and easy enough to get to the train station. There was some noise from the bar downstairs but it died down and was easy to ignore. For the price, amenities, location and ease of travel - I'd stay there again.

The rooms were very dirty, the Wi-Fi access code was not indicated within the rooms, the general condition of the rooms were not great for what we have paid. I have stayed in many hotels around the country at a similar price but these have been far better for value and overall condition. When leaving one of the rooms this morning after a night of rain, jumping across a major puddle was not fun!! The room that I should have been given was occupied by someone else, the room that I had been given had a small roof light as the only natural light. This acted a as a loud drum during the heavy rain during the night and woke me many times.

Rooms are a bit dated but good price for location and parking great

I wasn’t expecting a lot as it was about the cheapest room without being a hostel. However, it suited my needs and was private. It lacks the amenities of the bigger hotels, but the check in was easy, the staff were friendly, and it was a short distance to the Shambles. The topper was that they serve a fantastic breakfast at a reasonable price!

Great location Pub downstairs does food. Rooms are a little tired and the bathroom was freezing. There is a kettle but the plug is on the floor next to the bed. It is also impossible to fill the kettle directly from the sink. We used the cups to fill it. Onsite parking costs £10 which we weren’t aware about.

Very out dated, cobwebs in the room,& a banana had been left by previous guest, so not very clean.

It was OK. Location was great, room was very basic, dated and tiny. Good to have parking, but was charged £10 cash for this although advertised as free parking..

Friendly professional service small but adequate room for my wife and I for a one night stay close to the centre comfortable and warm bed with small en-suite, definitely worth the very reasonable price, we would use again most definitely

The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Great location in centre of York, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants and the Barbican centre. Room itself was dated, no central heating, just two small stand-alone heaters (which did heat the room) and small bathroom with shower. Tea and coffee facilities were a nice touch.
