Absolutely gorgeous views. Ponies right outside the windows, rolling fields. Lovely hot tub that heated up fast. Clean, peaceful and beautiful. Owner was kind and helpful. Close to Selfoss and Hveragerdi. Close to riding stables. East drive to the crater, the geyser and Gulfoss. Everything we needed was provided. Traveling with our 5 children and everyone was comfortable and happy! Highly recommend!

Highly recommend. We had a wonderful time staying at this guesthouse. It was spacious and comfortable. The deck was lovely, the view of the northern lights I posted was taken from the deck. I think the owners probably don’t use Hotels.com frequently. If you have difficulty reaching them through this platform you can look them up generally and reach out that way. My son was even given a special opportunity to meet the horses.

Our hostess was very kind and helpful. The house was very nice. It has a door between one bedroom and a bathroom and the rest fo the house, so it allows quiet and privacy. The kitchen has some basic items, which is great. The hot tub gets up 40 (103F) and is quite nice (allow 60-90 minutes for it to heat up and turn it off when you are done). The countryside is wonderful and pretty (photo taken out window at sunset). The heating system works wonderfully. The interent is fast and you can watch streaming shows. The cost is higher than we usually pay, but Iceland is expensive and for that country the fee is a good value. Be sure to bring food to cook for your stay, as it is not near cafes.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Stryta Guesthouse! The pictures don't do it justice. It was light and airy and impeccably clean with lovely views of the fields and horses just behind the house. The hot tub worked perfectly and was much appreciated after long days of hiking and sightseeing. The house was cozy and warm, the kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were comfortable with nice linens. It is a short drive to the Reykjadalur hot spring thermal river hike which we enjoyed and close to Selfoss for restaurants and grocery stores. All in all it was perfect and we would choose to stay there again in a heartbeat!

The cottage was really nice, extremely clean and organized, and located in a very pleasant site. It is also very close to major sites and easily accessible.
