Lovely welcome from real family business. We didn't eat in the evening but the Tapas looks excellent. Breakfast was as your mother would make it. Room was large and comfortable. It is an old Georgian building so don't expect 4* but do expect a lovely stay in this unique Georgian Town with its quirky history and lovely streets. Will be back again soon.

Fabulous house with a brilliant host.

We liked that it was in a good central location for our plans. We were disappointed that even after talking direct to the owner requesting a Gluten Free breakfast that this was not available and that although we arrived slightly late to breakfast all the bacon had been eaten. We found the stairs extremely dirty and rooms dusty.

The attentiveness of the staff was second to none.

Had a fantastic 4 night stay at Townsend House. The guesthouse is superb and in a great location, close to the town. Martin and Lorraine were brilliant hosts, they couldn’t do enough for us. The accommodation was spotless, with lovely decor and a comfortable bed. Highly recommended.
