Clean comfortable room

Excellent all round

Room clean and comfortable, no hot chocolate though! Quality of evening meal average, food lukewarm, very thick crust on steak and ale pie, beef and mushroom stroganoff with rice tasteless. Very small portion of sticky toffee pudding which was also lukewarm.Waste of £50. Wish we had ventured out into town as this was a birthday meal....disappointing. Even though we locked the room door when we went out Friday we noticed it was UNLOCKED when we returned (maybe after cleaning). Glad we didn't leave any valuables in the room.

Rated 8.2 excellent on a number of review sites. I would say this is about right. Very good room,comfy bed and friendly staff.

The four poster room was beautiful with a stylish en-suite. However it was too hot and noisy due to loud bathroom fans in nearby rooms and the busy road outside. Breakfast was excellent but evening meal was very disappointing with unpleasant meat in a stroganoff with no sauce. Staff were excellent.

More staff Better breakfasts and food served at a reasonable time we waited 40mins for our breakfast and it wasn’t that good

Great location, 5 minute walk along the canal to town. Hotel is opposite the train station, fire station & a supermarket. Room was nice & mostly clean although a desk lamp had quite a thick coat of dust on the base. Our room overlooked the road at the front which is busy - noise didn’t really bother us but would probably ask for a canal side room next time. Nice bar area. Had dinner in the restaurant & it was good, but small portions. Salmon came with 3 very small 1/4 roast potatoes. Black olive & feta salad had no olives! There is a supermarket over the road… Breakfast was good, although the beans were cold. Staff were great, especially the lovely lady who served breakfast.

Good stay, rooms a little tired and the TV was difficult on tuning in on some channels. Bar and breakfast areas were good Staff very nice

The room was great and we received a bonus room upgrade. We were in town to see the Rudolph Run and the local town was buzzing as the tractors rolled into town.

The breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice and the staff were so friendly and helpful.
