Stayed on a Monday evening and they'd ran out of cask ale which was disappointing, food didn't make up for it either

Quite area with easy access to areas that we wanted to visit. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Food was good but service can be slow. Would stay again.

Staff helpful enough. Rooms roasting hot, TV would not work correctly, shower was like a trickle

Clean room, comfortable bed with useful desk space and kettle for teas and coffee. friendly staff at check in and for breakfast, with parking off the main road. Overall easy and fair value for a 1 night stay.

Really helpful and friendly, especially housekeeping

Stayed a few times now. Rooms are getting a bit tired however they are immaculately clean. The shower pressure leaves a bit to be desired. However the staff are soo helpful and friendly and always seem cheery! The beer garden in the hot weather is a big plus plus it has a children's play area. I do enjoy my stays here and the food is good too. Good value for money

It was great being out in the beer garden in the hot weather. Staff were super friendly/helpful! Room was very clean. Only negative feedback was the shower pressure in Room 8 wasn't particularly strong so hard to rinse hair, plus shower head is fixed to wall which didn't help. Will be back

Ok for an overnight stop but room was tired and no aircon in a dingy room with the kitchen extraction right outside the window wasn’t great.

Room was nice a large and clean

Positive points to say about the pub/accommodation. 1) I booked two rooms at this property and called in the morning of arrival to ask if one of the rooms could be changed to an accessible room due to a family member having an operation and wouldn't be able to easily climb over the bath for a shower, the Lady on the phone was fantastic in organising that for us. 2) The duty manager on Saturday morning sorted out the food issues from Friday night. The bad points 1) We had dinner in the hotel, one meal sent back, when it came out a second time it was lacking a few items from the description. 2) despite asking two members of staff, it took four attempts to speak to the manager . 3) The hotel is in desperate need of some love and attention like paint, carpets and general cleaning and maintenance. Our room had dirt, cobwebs on the outside windows, it's the first thing you see when looking out, something easy to a achieve. When I flushed the toilet, I then turned on the tap at the sink to was my hands but the water unfortunately just pulsated out. Later on while taking a shower, my wife came into the bathroom to wash her hands at the sink and the shower just then trickled out, it was like something out of the third world But again, a bit of maintenance could have sorted these issues out. I have stayed at other Marston hotels in the past I appreciate there was staffing issues on Friday night and only one chef. Apparently a new owner had just taken over this premises.

The staff were amazing even though they was short staffed they went above and beyond, chef Matt done an outstanding job as he was the only chef at one point, lovely food, lovely room will stay again

Constant smell of cheap air fresheners in the halls, food was overcooked and took an extremely long time to arrive, people arriving after me were served there food before me. My experience was all the staff were in their early twenties, Maybe my issue were down to a lack of experience being on hand. Definitely not the worst place I’ve stayed in but can definitely be improved.

Great hotel and bar

I stayed here after walking down from Birmingham along the canal. I was greeted with a warm welcome, a nice room and some good pub grub. Bed was also very comfy. This morning's breakfast was amongst the best I've had staying at similar inns, which set me up great to walk to Worcester. For walkers doing a similar route to me, I'd recommend getting the bus from Stoke Prior to the pub, cutting out walking alongside a hairy 60 road. You can then get the bus to Droitwich and pick the canal back up very easily without a truck in sight 🙂

Perfect pub stay, great food and beer and a darts and pool table too

The staff were great and very polite. We had a problem with our kettle in the room. It tripped the electric when switching on. However, they replaced it with a new one and we're very apologetic. We enjoyed our night there

Very good for the price, would stay again.
