Ist in Ordnung

This should not be a 5 star hotel! I’ve stayed in better 3 star. Dated decor that is shabby and in need of upgrades and maintenance. A door that stuck on the carpet. Wonky wardrobe doors, spider webs, heavily worn carpet, a sharp lip to enter the bathroom. This star rating needs to change. The spa was unmanned. No towels and only the sauna on - the steam room didn’t look like it had been on for weeks.

The rooms were nice and the breakfasts were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Hospitality, downtown is nice and the restorants are fine.

I checked in and nobody said anything about the A/C being broken. Room was hot. I was told to just open windows. My room was above a bar across the street. I had to use ear plugs and could still hear the bar late into the night. They didn't have separate sheets, just a comforter/duvet. I had to take the sheet off that due to the heat.

Definitely not up to our expectations. Hotel Europe is rated as being 5 star, however the service and breakfast was mediocre. The heating was not working in our room and couldn’t be fixed. We booked for 2 adults, yet were only provided one teabag and one sachet of coffee daily. The only positive aspect is the location which is excellent.

Charm of old design and paintings on the walls. Staff was excellent too.

Hotel is a bit dated and rooms are very warm...but clean and good people.....size of the rooms is enormous!

Leider wird in der Bar und dem Restaurant geraucht, was mehr als störend ist. Ab 22.00 bekommt man in der Bar nichts mehr zu trinken! Und das in einem 5 Stern Hotel!

Not what I expected. First room had no electricity. They moved us to another room. It had electricity but the shower was not working. There was a tub available as well, but not everyone can climb over the tall tub. Once we checked out we were told parking was extra . That was disappointing. Breakfast is included and it was 10 out of 10 ! Staff is friendly . Rooms are nice size . Overall its an old hotel, it could be improved with remodeling.

Lovely hotel. The Viennese cafe is beautiful. The cafe and the bar are really good value for money, not the usual hiked up hotel prices. The corridors have a nice decor and the rooms are nice. I had a great view overlooking the garden and the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque which was lit up nicely at night. Rooms have an extra bit of security when you go out - you get a standard key lock as well as digital card entry.

It's very convenient location, walkable and safe.

The part I didnt like us that I called and ask if spa is in the price before booking room. When I arrived I asked about spa I was told I have to pay for spa. I thought it was misunderstanding i went to spa and ask if it is included if it is ok to go. The man said its ok but need to turn out sauna. Sauna didnt get warmed up and I had to leave. Before leaving he charged me for Sauna. Otherwise all was great

Das Hotel Europe in Sarajevo war einst eine der besten Adressen der Stadt, eine wahre Perle, die für ihren exzellenten Service und ihr luxuriöses Ambiente bekannt war. Leider hat das Haus seitdem deutlich nachgelassen. Es wurden schon seit längerer Zeit keine Investitionen mehr getätigt, was sich deutlich im Zustand des Hotels zeigt. Abgenutzte Möbel, fleckige Teppiche und veraltete Einrichtungen dominieren das Bild. Das Personal selbst ist größtenteils bemüht und freundlich, jedoch kann es die gravierenden Schwächen des Managements nicht ausgleichen. Einziger Lichtblick und Grund für den Aufenthalt im Hotel Europe war die hoteleigene Parkgarage. Sie bietet eine bequeme Parkmöglichkeit in der Innenstadt. Dies allein rechtfertigt jedoch nicht die vielen Kompromisse, die man als Gast in Kauf nehmen muss.

Hair dryer didn’t work. No conditioner. Can’t control a/c in room. No iron (yes, they do have the service, but what about if I don’t want the service or I’m in rush??). Not clean for 4-5 star hotel & that price in Bosnia!! Garage too small - sometimes no place to park. Very dirty going through hallway to garage!! Very dirty in garage!

Excellent location

This hotel seems to be too big and unwieldy for the management to cope with. We were mystified by how it managed to rate 5 stars, unless this is just a tick-box scheme which is completed by the hotel itself. Our first stay there, earlier in the month was dire (and we have reviewed it as such). Our second stay (which, to be honest we regretted having booked) was a bit better – the hotel seemed to have got itself together, and our room was ready for us, the staff were no longer ignoring or glaring or shouting at the guests. It was surprising that the safe in the room was too small for a laptop computer and there was, apparently, no other form of safekeeping for valuables in a hotel of this supposed stature. And the tea/coffee making facility in the room still consisted of one sachet of Nescafé instant coffee and one Hibiscus teabag. Altogether, the Hotel Europe was quite a strange experience, which didn't do justice to the beautiful, interesting and otherwise welcoming town of Sarajevo, which has done so much to recover from its painful history.

This visit to the Europe hotel was chaotic, unwelcoming and hostile to the guests. We were not given a room with a double bed, as we had requested, and were then moved to a room where the electricity was not working, and nor was the air conditioning. The shower mechanism was incomprehensible, the tea/coffee-making facility consisted of one sachet of nescafe and one herbal teabag. A lot of guests were complaining about the air-conditioning and we heard a receptionist shouting at them, rather than solving the problem. We were sitting in the bar on our first night, and the lights were suddenly turned off and the staff all walked out without a word to us. When we sent an email about all this to the hotel group manager, as we had been advised by one of the receptionists, the manager told all the staff off, and sent a bottle of wine to our room as compensation. We had no way to open it so reception sent someone to do that, and he seemed to expect a tip for his services – he clearly hadn't been told that this was our meagre compensation for all the bad things that had happened. The manager did not reply to us, or apologise or wish us a good stay.

Perfekt beliggenhed. Mega sødt personale alle steder. Både reception og baren. Ligger lige ved den gamle by. Så man kunne komme nemt rundt. P plads i p kælder. Værelset var lidt mørkt, da vinduet var meget lille. Men ellers god plads og ren. Morgenmaden. Det ville hjælpe hvis brødrister stod sammen med brødet og ikke bag frugten. Jeres peber og salt skal aftørres.

Really good value, location and very friendly service.
