Galle is not merely existing the Dutch fort, but also with Le Grand. Modern elegance is beyond the words` description. Comfortable rooms with gorgeous view. Friendly staffs are super helpful. Surely, security is strict to bring your safe feelings. When you hear the sea waves hitting the rocks, you feel peaceful and consider this hotel is definitely a home you should stay longer.

It's only 10-15 mins walk to the old town or A short tuk tuk ride. The view is great, can see the Fort tower from the room. Every staff is helpful and nice, they even offered us a place to shower and change clothes before we head out to the airport for our midnight flight! Great value for price.

Super amazing staff assisted in all need. Everyone from the desk, cleaners and kitchen crew made our stay such an experience that that alone was worth the stay on top of all that the amenities and views they really go above and beyond! I will forsure be coming back to this hotel from now on whenever in Galle thank you Le Grand Staff for your hospitality and attentiveness!

Great property within a short walk / tuk tuk ride from the main city attractions. Our experience started with a seamless airport pick up. The room was spacious and overlooked the sea. We upgraded to one of the suites later ( highly recommended ) which come with its own private pool and a small lawn attached, with views of the sea. The restaurant- Taste, located at the lobby restaurant served some good food. We specially enjoyed the local cuisine like lump rice, sri lankan prawn curry etc. The half board plan includes a set menu, which has some good variety. A buffet is served on Saturdays for dinner. We did not try the other restaurant - Blue as it opens only for dinner and shuts by 9.30. The menu looked good though and it a sea food restaurant. There is a cocktail hour between 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm which is free for the hotel guests ( not just the the club suites, but all guests) which was a good touch. The staff is excellent and accommodated every request we had. The pool is good, with a small jacuzzi as well. Would highly recommend the hotel, for its location, staff and good rooms.

Property is ocean facing which is great. Not really a 5 star property though. Cleanliness could be better. Not value for money. The fort is actually a 10 min ride away not walking distance.

Excellent property in all respects but tucked on a promontory down a cul de sac which is currently under repair requiring a detour through an office car park which detracts from the sense of arrival. Not however in control of the hotel and will probably be fixed soon.

Fabulous hotel with great views of Galle Fort. Absolutely spotless everywhere. Modern bedroom finished to a high standard Spacious showerroom. The large infinity pool overlooks the ocean and Fort Galle. It is beautifully clean and a joy to swim in. There is also a small jacuzzi Lots of sun loungers. Wonderful view from the bed room over tbe ocean and Fort Galle. Excellent breakfast We enjoyed the fish restaurant, which also has a nice view. Service was very good The staff were very helpful and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable

Got the ocean view room, and the view of the ocean is absolutely mesmerizing. The pool bar in the hotel is really a nice place to relax. Only one simple complaint I'd have is that the hotel doesn't have a big enough beach.

What’s not to love!!! This property is absolutely amazing. It books quickly so be sure to get a room while you can, trust me, it’s worth it!! Only bad thing is we had to leave.

Great view and Amazing staff

Warning don’t waste your time booking a hot tub room. Total waste of money. You need about 2 hrs to fill it. Then there are no instructions how to use it. We tried to get a refund from Sanjivee but he was adamant that it was our fault that we hadn’t reported it (not sure what other than lack of power from the tap) he wasn’t going to oblige. Other than this hiccup the hotel is very well situated - 15 mins walk - for visiting Galle Fort where there is a good selection of restaurants and shops. The rooms are big with comfortable beds and good pillows. The bathroom had a nice shower, a Japanese toilet and double sink. The furniture generally was a bit tired and maintenance needed to be done on some of it. There is a good fswimming pool and nice seating area. Access to a small beach. Breakfast was very good. A huge selection of Sri Lankan and European dishes. The highlight were the hoppers and freshly cut fruit of your choice. I would recommend this hotel for the convenience to the Fort, size of bedrooms and breakfast. Question the attitude of some staff.

Great location right next to Fort but outside the mayhem of it. Great views of it from the pool! Private beach, quite sheltered by the big waves. Comfortable and large rooms. Lovely breakfast and great service overall. Sondeepa, the lovely guy who made our room, was super attentive and lovely.

A lot of area need attention in the building outside deck need good clean

We had such a pleasant stay at this property. It was so calm and serene. With a stunning view of the fort. There's a small safe area to swim in the ocean as the rest of the sea is quite dangerous. A nice warm pool that offers the same view and peaceful vibe. The dining option for us was a paid dinner that had authentic Sri Lankan food. It wasn't short of any flavour and they did not cut corners - this is coming from a Sri Lankan. The next time I come from Canada and need to visit Galle. I will stay here again without hesitation
