Great room, great breakfast, lovely staff. Wouldn't hesitate to book again

Great room, great breakfast, lovely staff. Wouldn't hesitate to book it again. Anything spoil it? Expedia not paying the hotel when we arrived. Question for Expedia: Why was my payment not passed on to the hotel after I made the payment?

Staff were welcoming, breakfast was great and parking conveniently just behind the hotel. The manager was very helpful when we had to leave early as we had a fault with our car door, and offered us a free night in the future! Only concern was the noise from motorbikes which gather on the main road for fish and chips. But the Deluxe room was wonderful, and spacious, and like stepping back in time with an array of antique furniture and fittings.

Really lovely place, great location, staff very friendly. We will stay again.

A big 'thank you ' to Donna, Chris and Beth for a lovely 4 night stay. Excellent hosts. Quirky venue with loads of charm. Parking onsite. Spotlessly clean. Bed and pillows extremely comfy. Excellent breakfast that kept us going all day. Perfect location for exploring the area. Can highly recommend.

Could not fault the staff very helpful , breakfast with very good . I appreciate the building is old but I do think the decor needs a bit of an upgrade. Parking was good but bit of a steep hill to get there. It was a bit noisy in the evenings but it goes quiet at around 10 . Considering the manager and staff has only been there a few weeks they are doing an amazing job.

The hotel was exalent, the staff and the people running it were great, the breakfast was very good, very clean and tidy, all you expect from a very nice run hotel. Definitely be going back again. And there is parking as well, fab

breakfast was poorly organised, room poor, no bathmat, no hair dryer had to ask for toilet rolls, no remote for tv. very basic

This characterful hotel is well positioned in Matlock Bath and comes with a parking space! The host was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was amazing.

Ideal location in the heart of Matlock Bath. Staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel and our room were full of character with many period features. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel would recommend definitely go again easy walking distance to lovely walks and views lovely Indian restaurant down the road and brilliant little pub the fish pond at the top of the road
