Great location. But room so basic. Very clean and perfect location. But room has a very tired bathroom (like an 80’s student flat). Hot water takes for ever to come. Tiny room. Not even a chair. No air con. Just an old fashion ceiling fan. It’s not expensive but I find the pictures very misleading. Not bad value for money but very basic.

We liked that it was in the centre of upper town close to all the restaurants, the squares, the churches and everything else. It was a 2 km walk from the main train station as our trip was all on trains

A favourite place of ours. We keep coming back to it as it ticks all the boxes. Supercentral, clean, comfortable, outstanding service and adequate pricing.

This is a good hotel in an amazing location adjacent to the main piazza in Bergamo alta. It has its own restaurant, indoor and outdoor dining. Plus a small private and secure car park.

Well priced centrally located hotel in the heart of old town Bergamo, located above a friendly restaurant/ coffee shop. Room was basic but adequate for a short stay, only downside was the shower ( we had read previous reviews so knew this might be an issue) it was snug & water came out in bursts rather than a constant flow.

This hotel is only rated 2 star's, but we found it incredibly clean and comfortable. The location is at the corner of the main town square, so you couldn't beat it. It is extremely quiet and the breakfast is buffet style. We ate in the restaurant the first night and although it was more expensive than a lot of the other restaurants we ate in, the quality of the food and service was exceptional and worth the money. Service is at the core of this hotel. All the staff were very warm, welcoming and friendly. Special mention to the head barman Diego, The best cocktail maker and truly one of the nicest people you could meet. He is so passionate about not only cocktails, but Coffee! If you do decide to stay here, don't expect the Ritz, but DON'T expect 2 Star's either. Il Sole is so much more. We will be recommending it to all our friends and hopefully returning. Bergamo is one place that does live up to the hype.

The location is perfect just in the city centre. The room was small and very simple. The breakfast was amazing! Very tasty and welcoming. Home pastries alongside with professional coffee were the best.

Very kind staff, actually small family working together to make our stay very enjoyable. No lift in this very old building. Great breakfast to have with your americano or cappuccino. Unfortunately, there is no AC here either. Overhead fan and a smaller desk fan are in the rooms.

This was a gem right in the middle of Bergamo. Highly recommended

Perfect location for visiting the old town. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Everywhere in the hotel very clean, breakfast was good, plenty of fresh fruit. The room was hot as no air con but there was a ceiling fan and portable fan, the wc/shower area was small but not a problem for us. I would recommend and would definitely stay there again on future visits to Bergamo.

What a great little hotel right in the heart of Bergamo Old Town (Citte Alto), perfect for an overnight stay. Highly recommend the restaurant too!

Stayed 4 nights. Hotel is in the centre of the Citta Alta and perfectly positioned. Not far away from the airport bus stop or the funicular. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious and very quiet, bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom a little dated but lots of fluffy white towels. Everywhere in the hotel was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, bread, croissants, meats and cheese and boiled eggs. Great coffee. We loved Bergamo and our stay at Il Sole and would highly recommend both!

Beautiful accommodation in the centre of historic Bergamo. Friendly and helpful staff.

I love the fact that the property is right on the plaza, so you can walk around, also is a restaurant right there by the corner of the property and the site scene is right outside your door. I will recommend this place to my friend. The manager was very nice and accommodate.

What a gem of a spot. Step out the door and you are in the heart of old Bergamo. The small hotel rests in an old structure dating back hundreds of years, so one should not expect "luxury" but a sweet experience in a historical location.
