Great hotel and wonderful location. The hotel has local charm and character. Be sure to reserve the spa rooms—if I remember it came out to about $30 for over 90 minutes. The spas are private and great after a long day of exploring. Great boutique hotel!

Great location and loved the extra perks like the unlimited water, the free laundry, morning coffee and croissants, cookies in room and beverages in fridge. Beautifully designed and decorated. Super comfy sheets and bed/pillows and towels. Shower amazing. Only con was that you can’t see outside or open the windows. Since room has two large twin beds and a lot furniture, can then feel a bit closed in. Would try to get an even larger room to overcome this minor issue. Helpful and keen staff.

Amazing stay and that alone doesn’t do it justice. Hidden gem - location, location, location. It’s quite difficult to believe this is a three star when in fact everything about it far exceeds anything we’ve experienced at 4+ locations. We will be back and highly recommend to anyone considering visiting Kyoto. You won’t be dissapointed.

Staff was delightful and wanted to make sure you were happy. Free drinks during your stay and bread available in the am. Best of all free laundry.

Hotel is quite pretty, we enjoyed our stay here. Room felt small but quaint. Some rooms have no windows (our room was one of these). Bathroom felt spacious and modern. Hotel has laundry (free) and simple spa services that can be booked. Location is very good, walking distance from a few large temples in Kyoto, with good bus connectivity to many of the other key / well known attractions in Kyoto.

Since they were eco-friendly the rooms were never cleaned, the trash was never removed and clean towels were left outside your door.

Laundry service would be better if have in the room. Wait too long to use it in the evening/nighttime. Also, the dryer is not efficient in drying the clothes & the laundry room is too stuffy/hot (no ventilation). Other than that, the room is very nice & spacious. We appreciate the free water bottles, drinks (juices, beers), snacks, tea bags & coffee pods), tea kettle, coffee maker & other amenities.

La camera ed il bagno hanno tutti i comfort: doccia spaziosa e con un getto molto grande, area dedicata per togliersi le scarpe, frigo mini bar gratis, phone, piastra, spazzola, pettine, creme ecc disponibili Prese aggiuntive e convertitori disponibili Alla mattina in aggiunta c’è un frigo da cui è possibile prendere delle mini brioche e scaldarle e una macchinetta da cui selezionare vari tipi di caffè. La posizione é comodissima per raggiungere la zona di Gion e la famosa Pagoda, ci ha permesso di fare un giro in tarda serata senza trovare nessuno.

Hands down the best place I stayed in my trip to Japan. Incredible and accommodating staff, excellent facilities and very convenient location. We took a full advantage of the spa, it was a lovely treat after long days of sightseeing. Highly recommend!

Spectacular hotel with staff being wonderful. The location is perfect for doing dang near anything in Kyoto.

We enjoyed the location, was easily in walking distance to many areas we planned to visit, but was very quiet within the area. The staff was fantastic and helpful. The property was beautiful! We booked the room with private open airbath and spa room, massage chair, everything was great and made widing down after walking all day worth it. I was shockes by the amenities, lots of free beverages stocked in the room. Offered happy hour with many more beverage offerings. Will definitely book again for any future visits.
