This is Carlisle’s premier hotel and it is always a joy to stay here. Everything has been thoughtfully considered, from the spacious and comfortable rooms to the excellent facilities. What really sets the hotel apart, however, is the staff. They are consistently warm, professional, and helpful, making every stay feel welcoming and effortless. I genuinely can’t fault it and always look forward to returning.

What a great find. A beautifully restored old post office. High quality fittings, luxury feel. Service was excellent and the small touches made a big difference. Diffuser in the reception, complimentary local crumpets and jam. I could t fault it. I will be returning.

The two issues we had were - Hotel staff very noisily recycling empty bottles at 5:50am the first morning waking us both up Bedroom blinds weren’t very effective at keeping sunshine out and bedrooms were very light by 6am

Pleasant staff. Nice to have a kitchen. Breakfast was delicious, and inexpensive. Location was convenient to the train station.

Really lovely staff, incredible rooms with so much space. It's right in the centre but has a car park next to it too. Can't fault it really.

Room was quiet and large.

Our 1 bedroom apartment was gorgeous. Very spacious and the bed comfy. Only 1 criticism was the heating wasn’t on when we went in and took a while to warm up but this is personal preference really

Fabulous room on the 2nd floor, clena, very comfortable, everything you would need from a pint of milk to crumpets and butter, a wonderful bed (slept so well) shower and bath with the lovely handwash, shower gel, shampoo etc., I can't wait to stay again, it's very handy for the town centre and the Penny Blue served us wonderful meals

The Halston is a beautiful venue and our townhouse was amazing and very clean, well equipped, staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast in their hotel and dinner in Penny Blue restaurant were delicious.

Excellent property. Exceptionally clean, great customer service and The Penny Blue Restaurant, Bar and Breakfast were all 5 star. Our rooms were great too, cannot fault The Halston.

We always return to the Halston it’s fantastic!

Great place to stay, easy walking distance for drinks and food

Friendly and welcoming staff, lovely studios which are well maintained and decorated perfectly with everything you need, property is in a fantastic location in the centre of town and the property has a restaurant with good quality good which is presented well. Loved the crumpets/butter jam in the studio for breakfast, it was a lovely touch.

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. My room for one person was spacious and comfortably. . I loved the small kitchen and the crumpets and jam ! The only minus point was there was no airco and the room was very warm even with the 2 fans that were provided on full.
