Two reasons you should consider this hotel but many more reasons not to book! Good things: the spa and restaurant staff are great, and the location is exceptional but they’re many other hotels next door. Bad things: - unfriendly receptionist: the receptionists were not attentive and friendly throughout my 3-day stay, especially the one who checked me in. I just looked at the other guest comments, it seems my bad experience was not unique to me. - Room conditions: the room has a very small window (like a prison) that offers almost no natural night. Hotels.com must indicate this in the room description because people like me do mind. Also, the room size is small. - Noise: Throughout my entire stay, I could not sleep well because of the noise coming from both inside and outside of the hotel. Imagine disco music is On till 2am. - Housekeeping: the bathrobes were being removed from the room and clean towels were not refilled. The cleaning and amenities were random - good luck! Extra charge: 20 Euro for the receptionist to just make a phone call to get a taxi, while the taxi ride costs just 10 Euro. I’d rather pay an extra fee to the taxi driver who actually delivered a service and drove me to the train station safely. Where does it say in the hotel’s public information on this extra charge? Shouldn't it be a part of the 5-star hotel?

Perfect location & Service

We stayed I n Portobay Flores in Porto superior room for 3 nights. This was definitely not up to a five stars hotel standard. Pros: 1. Breakfast staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. 2. Hotel had a perfect location right in city center Cons: 1. Receptionist was not attentive. We arrived in heavy rain and both were dripping. Receptionist was busy on phone and didn’t even offer tissue. 2. They just offered one complimentary glass bottle of water even we stayed for 3 night. We requested to refill the bottle and they charged EUR7.5 for that 3. Room is small. It didn’t indicate in hotel.com but it’s 21-23m square fit 4. The corridor was dripping with 2 buckets from the first day till we left the hotel. 5. Breakfast selection was okay but it didn’t change at all for the first 2 days and the third morning was 90% same 6. Hotel did not provide any toothbrush/ toothpaste

The hotel is a beautiful combination of new and old. It’s very unique. Everyone was very polite and welcoming

Not a five star hotel. $500 a night. Room was bare with minimal amenities. 3.5-4 stay at best. Staff very unhelpful, no personal touch. I thought all 5 stars offered water upon arrival?

A lovely, comfortable high end hotel in a great location in town along a pedestrian walkway. The stand out is the staff - absolute lovely across the board. Food and beverages fabulous (Happy Hour 5.30-6.30pm was super) and the spa, sauna, steam room and plunge pool lovely. The gym looked great - modern equipment and super-clean. Our room was beautiful, in-room amenities perfect and bed spacious and comfy. We had a wonderful stay.

This was a wonderful hotel to stay at while in Porto. The location is perfect and the hotel and staff are top notch. Would highly recommend!

Lovely hotel in walking district, spa was wonderful for a rainy day in.

This is an absolutely lovely hotel in an excellent location. Above all, the staff, to a person, is exceptional-friendly, helpful and they all go beyond what might be expected.

Excellent all round

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel location was convenient and made it easy to get around. The welcome gift was a great touch and made us feel truly welcomed. We also appreciated that there was a gift for our child, which was very thoughtful. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, we had a great experience and would be happy to stay here again.

We only ate at the hotel in tbr evenings. It was two days befote we realised there was suplementary menu for evenings. We were in room 604. This neccessitated travelling from reception to the lifts to get to our room. Its painted black, its dark and poorly lit. Other guests referred to it as the dungeon. The bar area was cold people were sat eating and drinking with coats on. The large electric kept opening. The view from our room was greatacross to the cathedral and bishops palace. Ythe location in the middle of old town is great. When out of an eveni g we felt safe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parts of the original palace were still visible.

Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast room was a little cold as the balcony door was always open. A very pleasant stay and ideally situated in the old town.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of Porto. It has been sympathetically design to a modern standard. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and quiet.

Room 24 is dark (very small window, no view) and next to a staff access area so the door was constantly slamming which was very annoying during the day, but otherwise it’s a lovely hotel - centrally located, wonderful staff and delicious food.

Wonderful, central location. Hotel was fantastic. We had the breakfast one morning- excellent. Bistro Lounge has great drink selections and also had a light meal- all great quality. Loved our room and the hotel overall.
