Two reasons you should consider this hotel but many more reasons not to book! Good things: the spa and restaurant staff are great, and the location is exceptional but they’re many other hotels next door. Bad things: - unfriendly receptionist: the receptionists were not attentive and friendly throughout my 3-day stay, especially the one who checked me in. I just looked at the other guest comments, it seems my bad experience was not unique to me. - Room conditions: the room has a very small window (like a prison) that offers almost no natural night. Hotels.com must indicate this in the room description because people like me do mind. Also, the room size is small. - Noise: Throughout my entire stay, I could not sleep well because of the noise coming from both inside and outside of the hotel. Imagine disco music is On till 2am. - Housekeeping: the bathrobes were being removed from the room and clean towels were not refilled. The cleaning and amenities were random - good luck! Extra charge: 20 Euro for the receptionist to just make a phone call to get a taxi, while the taxi ride costs just 10 Euro. I’d rather pay an extra fee to the taxi driver who actually delivered a service and drove me to the train station safely. Where does it say in the hotel’s public information on this extra charge? Shouldn't it be a part of the 5-star hotel?

Perfect location & Service

We stayed I n Portobay Flores in Porto superior room for 3 nights. This was definitely not up to a five stars hotel standard. Pros: 1. Breakfast staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. 2. Hotel had a perfect location right in city center Cons: 1. Receptionist was not attentive. We arrived in heavy rain and both were dripping. Receptionist was busy on phone and didn’t even offer tissue. 2. They just offered one complimentary glass bottle of water even we stayed for 3 night. We requested to refill the bottle and they charged EUR7.5 for that 3. Room is small. It didn’t indicate in hotel.com but it’s 21-23m square fit 4. The corridor was dripping with 2 buckets from the first day till we left the hotel. 5. Breakfast selection was okay but it didn’t change at all for the first 2 days and the third morning was 90% same 6. Hotel did not provide any toothbrush/ toothpaste

Room 24 is dark (very small window, no view) and next to a staff access area so the door was constantly slamming which was very annoying during the day, but otherwise it’s a lovely hotel - centrally located, wonderful staff and delicious food.

Wonderful, central location. Hotel was fantastic. We had the breakfast one morning- excellent. Bistro Lounge has great drink selections and also had a light meal- all great quality. Loved our room and the hotel overall.

The hotel was beautifully presented and in an excellent central position for all the sights. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and we made good use of the bar area. We didn’t eat at the restaurant although the menu looked good. The room was of a good size and had everything you would need. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a good range of toiletries. All in all we had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Great hotel and wonderfully central location

Great breakfast selection and quality of food. The staff were all very professional and friendly. Our room was extremely comfortable and a real pleasure to stay in.

Truly amazing location, kind and helpful staff, gorgeous property and fabulous views from our room! We wish we would have had more time to enjoy the spa. Incredible story of the complete restoration of the property. Of all the places we stayed on our 2 week trip around Porto and Lisbon, this was absolutely the best.

I was very disappointed that, despite a clear laminated A5note asking that any towels or flannels not left on the bathroom floor, should NOT be changed, all our hand / bath towels and flannels were without exception, changed daily. This is not in anyway environmentally sustainable and should be frowned upon by any responsible hotel chain. You did not even have any card giving a statement of your environmental credentials, which was most disappointing. The housekeeper / housekeepers continuously forgot to replug my CPAP breathing apparatus in, after they’d used the socket for their vacuum cleaner - just frustrating! On one afternoon, we arrived back to our room to encounter the room smelling like a restaurant kitchen. We suspected this originated from one of the housekeepers opening a corridor window (outside Rm 23) whilst she was cleaning our room and with our door open.

This hotel is excellent, the level of service from all the staff is very high, everyone was helpful and made our stay as welcoming as possible. The hotel is in a central location but the rooms are quiet and you soon forget about the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. Breakfast was very good, plenty of options for different tastes and for those with food intolerances. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size, the double curtains worked wonders and I slept really well, the bathroom felt spacious. Really can’t fault it and highly recommended.

Beautiful hire

Hotel is positioned right on to a busy pedestrian area of central Porto. Great for walking straight on to the buzz. Room was spacious, very clean and bed comfortable. We ended up having a sligntly constricted courtyard, north facing view. This made the room very dark. Spa and gym are clean but tiny, gym has some cardio equipment but virtually no weight equipment. Breakfast varied and good, but not very inspiring.

Recently stayed at PortoBay Flores and enjoyed my time there. Great location, friendly staff and good breakfast. Would recommend.

Gorgeous hotel in the perfect location. The rooms were beautiful and very well appointed. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise to start each day. Was not able to take advantage of the gym or spa but they looked wonderful. Wish we had more time to spend but we will be back!
