Start with the pros: staff are amazing, will go out of their way. Location is amazing and unbeatable. Wifi is good and fast. Some cons: room didn't feel very clean - bed linen full of hairs. Hot water is only available for limited hours a day and even then, quite luke warm.

Would not recommend. Our room was dirty and very dark. The hallways were clean but the carpet in our room was very dirty. Don't stay here!!

I stayed at the hotel for a couple of weeks and found my stay there to be pleasant, well situated and the staff at the hotel are very helpful and extremely friendly amongst whom a receptionist called Bashaer Almasri who is an absolute darling. If I ever visit Amman again With my family I will more than likely stay at the same hotel.

Fine folk work and run this hotel which at one time appears to have been one classy joint. A beautiful sitting room which was typically empty and another dining space which was mostly vacant the mornings I was there. I had a nice deck and it was an easy walk to Old Amman and a number of top tourist sites. But i do wonder about the"New" in New Park since like others have alluded to in their reviews, this hotel is in need of some serious work; doors are sagging, material is worn, tv did not work, ac was weak and thank goodness it was not as noisy as I thought it would be. The immediate vicinity is run down but you walk a block and it is.alive with goodness, tea, bookstores, shopping, mosque's and.the central noise of Amman. So, for.the money it's okay - nice people close to good things but the facility itself is another story. FYI. My bias as I travel is to locate clean and.convenient places to.stay where I have my own bed, bathroom and amenities. Nothing too fancy - simply easy, clean and fun.

It was very pleasing to see a very heart fell and very good service. I was treated like a member of a family. It was made everything possible . They organised a taxi for me to Airport . I couldn’t ask for better service.

If you are looking for something just to put your bags and rest your head for a night, this is fine. The amenities are slightly below average. Location however is walking distance to many things in Amman.

The New Park Hotel is a good bet if you are travelling on a bit of a budget, but you don't want to stay in a flea-pit with cigarette burns in the sheets :) It is clean and simple, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I arrived from the airport in the middle of the night and found the desk manned and ready to receive me, and my room ready with the bed turned down. I woke up late, but they still served me breakfast (fairly basic egg and cheese and bread but fine!). The location is very handy for the tourist sites in the centre including the citadel and the roman theatre, and there are plenty of good, cheap restaurants nearby.

I liked it here, the staff were very friendly & didn't hassle...I think it may have changed hands recently. It was quiet at night compared to other places I stayed at in Amman..Everything was closed early in this area & it wasn't that well lit in the area at night, so I think that solo female travellers may feel apprehensive walking alone back to the hotel after dark, but if you are a couple or more, then it should be ok, & I found Amman to be a safe city.

You get what you paid for. It can feel quite spartan here especially if its your first night in the country. Dont stay here until you know what is like in the Middle East or your are prepared for it.

The rooms in this hotel are basic and are fairly clean;. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They helped with our holiday plans and arranged a trip for us, which was excellant. They helped by writing in Arabic our destinations to help us with the taxi drivers. It made a big difference. I would recommend getting a room at the back of the hotel due to the noise of the road, it is very busy. Whilst the view at the back is nothing to look at, the peace and quiet helped for a better nights sleep. The hotel is located downtown and is great if you want to do the walking tour of Amman as mentioned in the Lonely Planet book. There are also some great eateries close by. Essentially you need to bear in the mind the star rating. You get what you pay for, but the staff make up the difference.

Huge mould stains on the ceilings - and the whole hotel has that damp smell. Sink that didn't drain. A mixture of hairs in the shower. Dirty floor - hadn't been hoovered for a while. Stained sheets & blankets. Reception man barely spoke English. Couldn't arrange a taxi to take me to the bus station early the next morning but could arrange a taxi to take me to my destination 3 hours drive away. Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel - after seeing the state of the rooms I wasn't going to risk it! Found a new hotel the next day. Was told that New Park used to be 10 JOD per night, then Libyans started travelling to Amman for healthcare, and hotel prices went up. Don't know how accurate this story is, but think there is some truth in it as 95% of other guests middle eastern, but 10 JOD still too much!!!
