When I arrive the hotel, I am stunning about the style. Then, I got crazy and scream inside my mind on my way to the room through restaurant and beach, what a Paradise!!! From my check in until check out, all is perfect. 1) Good introduction of room and facilities. 2) attentive staff which concern my needs in advance even 1 to 2 staffs concern if I am bored of being alone here (I did stay on beach side hotel alone, sometimes with island hopping for couple times in South America and SE Asia, please no need to be worried for me :P). 3) well arrangement which a public shower room for checked out guest, fruits served around beach during afternoon, turn down with mosquito spray on evening. 4) coffee or tea will be served every morning outside your unit. At the beginning, I think I may not wake so early on 7:30am to enjoy it immediately but I did waked up by sea waves and birds singing song around 7am everyday which is a blessed annonying wake up call, may I have it daily instead of the mobile alarm?

Best hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. This place deserves 10 stars.

Wir haben ein Seaview Suite mit Pool gehabt, das Zimmer, Bad und der Pool waren sehr sauber, es lohnt sich der Aufpreis um einen eigenen Pool zu haben. Das Essen war sehr gut, der King Praws Salat hervorragend. Einziger negativ Punkt waren die Säfte, woanders war es viel besser. Der Mango Saft hat aus der Packung geschmeckt und nicht frisch gemacht. Der Strand hat extrem viele Algen, nicht angenehm, daher haben wir die Zeit in unserem eigenen Pool genutzt. Wir haben einen Ausflug mit dem Boat zum Pongwe Reef gemacht, sehr wenige Koralle und die meisten kaputt, man sieht ein paar rote Seestern. Im allgemeinen ein sehr gutes Hotel, mit guten Essen.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The overall service was excellent. This is a wonderful place to relax - it may not be 5 star luxury but it is authentic African hospitality - just what we had hoped for.

We just left after spending 6 night at this wonderful resort. My family and our travel friends had a wonderful time, and were sad to leave. The staff are super amazing, the resort was a wonderful place to relax, the food very delicious, I can’t really say enough great things about this resort. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend the Pongwe Beach Hotel!

The staff and management were all very friendly and professional. Our room was delightful and had everything we could wish for and more. The beach was beautiful, clean and private. The food was of a high standard with a menu that changed daily. Would recommend Pongwe Beach to anyone wishing for a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Excellent quiet retreat. Amazing staff , good food and beach and pool beautiful. Staff could not do enough for you and Hati in the restaurant was great fun . Definitely recommend if a peaceful , restful holiday is your thing .

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Pongwe Beach Hotel. The property is very unique in Zanzibar in that it has its own almost private beach pretty much immediately near bungalows and its very beautiful and quiet, the sea is very clean with less seaweed than others we visited. Beautiful swimming pool overlooking the sea. The resort facilities and bedrooms could be improved in that the decor feels a little dated in terms of interior design, but generally very comfortable and very well serviced by the ever cheerful and kind staff working at every level. Food is very good, the menus are changed daily and offer two options plus two vegetarian options at lunch, and others at dinner. The rooms could be improved by offering air conditioning in every room. Some rooms only offer a fan with a bed-cooling air con system which we didn’t enjoy.

Great staff ! very nice and welcoming. Very helpful front desk especially Martin. The pool and beach are great, be aware of the tide but in my opinion this added to the charm of the hotel, allowing us to walk on the beach alone :)
