tres bon hotel accueil tres sympathique

Initially we thought this was a little bit away from the town and up a big hill, but that was a godsend when they had a festivl over 4 days in town and we didn't get the noise (the locals even complained about it). It was also a very pleasant walk and gave us chance to see local life - a tuk-tuk taxi was very cheap if you felt lazy. It was also close to starting points of some trekking. The rooms were fairly basic but clean and comfortable; the bathroom was large with a wet room type shower. There were great views of the hills and local village. A temple with a bamboo Buddha was a short walk away. Staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful and greeted us whenever we returned from the town. They also booked a trip for us and arranged taxis with no issues. Breakfast was basic but they try really hard to satisfy you - in fact too hard some mornings bringing out lots plates of food when you have asked for no more. Wifi was good with a strong signal. Overall a great little hotel for the price; would definitely return if in that area again.
