Our stay in the hotel was comfortable and the hotel is located within walking distance from the train station. I just feel that it was newly opened and everything is in great condition. The breakfast is great, but unfortunately, we were not get notified of the opening times of the restaurant, so we miss one of the breakfasts due to early departure for the train (there was a strike on that day). Apart from that, I will definitely reconsider this hotel when I visit Edinburgh again.

We were in the attic room on the 9th floor. The room was massive and the big bed comfortable. We had 3 windows each with upholstered double bench seats in front of them. The bathroom was big also but a little dark. The AC worked as it should and warmed or cooled the room very quickly. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice and cooked to orders, with a continental side. Mac at breakfast was really helpful and extremely polite. We asked for our half board evening meal to be sent to our room. They did this without quibble and didn’t charge anything extra. Because we decided not to have our room made up (2 nights) were given 2 vouchers for drinks up to £7.50 each. We were also given a voucher for 2 free glasses of Prosecco during our stay. The hotel is very well located with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. It is also a 5 minute walk from the St James’s shopping centre. The Tram station is across the square which is a direct link to the airport. We booked just the night before so it was a little expensive, but won’t be, I’d imagine, for any advance booking.

the AC kept the room cool but the controls were not user friendly, it was difficult to change the fan speed (I did not succeed :-( Anna at the front desk was most helpful and gracious. A real asset to your team.

The location in Edinburgh is excellent. The hotel is close to stations, theatre and St. James Quarter for shopping. Directly on the other side of the Square are various restaurants. We paid for an upgrade to a Club Room and were fortunate to be given a Suite. We had a nice bathroom with shower and a slipper bath in the main bedroom. Bed was very comfortable and despite being at the front of the hotel we slept well with no noise. Staff were friendly and nice. Room was ok cleanliness wise but housekeeping replenishment of some supplies was poor. Other minor maintenance issues and very poorly performing hairdryer but otherwise was a really good stay.

From the moment we arrived, everything about this hotel exceeded expectations. The staff were so king- the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. The room was beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable (the bed alone deserves a special mention). Every detail felt carefully considered, from the quality of the amenities to the peaceful atmosphere throughout the property. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, elegance, and exceptional service.

This is a great place to stay very close to all the shopping and sights of central Edinburgh. The breakfast was really nice too!

Great location, friendly staff and great rooms

Hotel was good and would have no problems staying there again - however there is no overnight parking other than city multi-storey which is a significant walk away and the whole Malmaison decor theme is so early 2000’s (and overall too dark inside). I think a refresh is needed, costly but necessary.

Locatoon, service, cleanliness were all great. The only issue I had was that we were booked as 2 adults and 1 child and when we arrived at the hotel we were constantly being asked to pay extra for having a child (extra for a bed, extra for breakfast), even though my original booking through Expedia was for 2 adults and 1 child. The staff waived all extra charges for this eventually though.

One of the best stays while we were in Edinburgh. Staff was wonderful, rooms were beautiful, and beds were comfortable. Wish we would have booked more than one day here.
