I had an okay stay, but overall I wouldn’t return. I was expecting a child-free or at least adult-focused resort, and that wasn’t the case. There were loud kids in the pool constantly, with no real adult-only time to relax.
At $155 per night, the value just isn’t there. The resort nickel-and-dimes you, and similar views can be found at other hotels for much less. Also, the pictures on the websites are over-embellished, so definitely lower your expectations compared to what’s advertised.
The location means it can be quiet at night, but that’s mainly because you’re a significant walk from the west end nightlife. That said, interior noise was still an issue. We were told no one was staying above us, but there clearly was. We could hear heavy-footed stomping, loud walking, and furniture being moved, which made it hard to relax.
One of the most frustrating parts was the airport taxi arranged by Lands End. I was told it would be $40–$45, and of course they charged $45. Taxis at the airport were quoting $30. The arranged driver also said the fare was “part of the package,” which was not true. I recommend just getting a taxi at the airport.
If you’re choosing this place mainly for the breakfast, you’re better off staying somewhere cheaper ($50–$100/night) and eating elsewhere, like Sandy Buns.
I won’t be staying here again.
