Sleepless night Noisy AC.Unbearable! Felt like an air less tomb. Would not recommend!

The room was quaint, but cozy, and the beds were really comfortable. I was really happy with the shower as well - it's uncommon for hotels to have such good water pressure! Bruce at the front desk was friendly and extremely helpful, and we had a great stay! Thank you so much!

We stayed here one night due to an early flight the next day. We stayed here sinply because it was the cheapest accommodation we could find. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. As I was waiting in line I observed that she went out of her way to help other guests. The room itself was clean. The room appeared to have a recent "renovation" - not the best quality of renos, but carpet-free is nice! Parking was right in front of the room which was nice. It was noisy. I dont know if it is the "courtyard" style of the parking lot making everything echo more or the nearby pub. Our solution was to keep the A/C unit on all night for white noise. Overall the stay was decent but we didnt feel like it matched the dollars spent.

Partying and screaming and swearing outside our room all night. Felt very insecure and unsafe and never slept. We ended up leaving at 4 AM and driving home.

Staff was excellent, polite, kind, helpful. Rooms are dated and smell must...but new owner is getting ready to renovate at the end of summer. Pub/bar closes at midnight, but flights from the west arrive at the airport at 12:30am ish. So if you're hungry, get something before you arrive.

We liked the location. Not happy that air conditioning wasn’t working upon arrival. It did get fixed. Not happy at the amount charged for damage deposit and upon checkout it takes 2-3 days for them to return the charge back to cvv.$600

It is not fit to stay in. Air conditioning not working. Mouse traps around. Noot able to turn off the water in the bathroom..drinking and fighting going on. It was terrible I should get a refund

The Guv'nor was perfect for St. John's Newfoundland. We could easily walk down the hill to the city's main sights and take a cab up hill for a safe, clean rest. It saved driving our larger vehicle over hill and dale. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Restaurants food was super expensive and not great. Rooms need updating as they are tired looking. Was given a one bed room, but originally paid for two bed room which would have been bigger. Room was very small.

Room rate for the size of the room and the soundproofing in the walls are very poor.

Mice in the room. Smoking area outside the door. With the air conditioning on marijuana and cigarette smoke blowing in. Revolting. Staff were nice. Linens and bed were good. Cleanliness good. Way too expensive. Sorry but true.

Everything was going great at the beginning. They let us check in early which was appreciated. What went wrong was when we turned in our keys at 4:30am (early flight) we got notified that we didn’t pay for the room. Room was paid for through Expedia. Don’t know what went wrong. They said they had a new system. I had them take a picture of my receipt stating room was paid for and gave them my phone number and left. Wanted to make our flight.

This place double charges MORE. I paid in full on Expedia for two nights. Upon check in there's the standard security deposit. I found I was charged and the transaction was posted a total of $600 on that day by the Guv'nor Inn. This is way higher than the room total. Upon calling to tell them of the huge charge, they claim to not have information and transfer to extensions that are not answered.

I like how there was pub connected to hotel made it easy to get food super nice staff and not too far of walk to downtown about 20-25 mins
