Wonderful hotel with fabulous staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool im the garden was a lovely addition. Room was spacious and well appointed. Highly recommended.

A beautiful hotel in a convenient location to get into town. The pool was a huge bonus, the breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. Other guests could be quite noisy in the corridors which we heard in our room - not the fault of the hotel but perhaps some signage in the halls asking for quiet especially during nighttime hours could be helpful. The only area I have to mark down on is the housekeeping could have been better - the coffee station in the room wasn't refilled, and the glasses we used were taken away/not replaced.

We’ve just spent a week in this beautiful hotel and it was everything I had hoped it would be. The building has been renovated and decorated in perfect keeping with its historic architectural style whilst adding modern comfortable features. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts fabulous.

L’accueil était génial, la chambre pres de la terrasse, la piscine WoW, et le déjeuner excellent.

Foi apenas uma noite. Destaco a simpatia, a limpeza, o conforto e o edifício antigo muito bonito.

Hotellet var veldig koselig, men bratte trapper og ikke heis. Nært til metro og derfor nært til sentrum. Veldig god frokost

Veldig koselig hotell med fin hage og basseng rett i nærheten av buss og Marques metro, veldig greit i forhold til transport. Blide og greie ansatte. Stort rom med good seng, lite kjøleskap og safe. Anbefales!

Beautiful period property, lovely helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Small pool but perfect for cooling down in after a day exploring.

Ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt in einem ganz besonderen Hotel! Schöne und große Zimmer, gepflegt, bezaubernder Garten mit Pool! Würde ich jederzeit weiter empfehlen. Das Personal war reizend, kompetent und sehr hilfsbereit! Danke von ganzem Herzen an das Team!

Initially we were a bit disappointed as the room we were given was quite dark and in the annex to the main buiding, and it necessitated going on to the main road to the main building (using key cards) for breakfast and the gardens / swimming pool. We moved rooms for the 2nd night and the experience was so much better - a room in the main building with a large balcony. Make sure you ask for eggs with your breakfast if you want them as they're cooked to order, but we weren't told on our first day so didnt realsie they were included.

I had a lovely stay at this charming small hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. While waiting for my room to be ready, they offered me a glass of port wine, which was a lovely touch. Throughout my stay, everyone was helpful and genuinely service-minded, with great local tips on where to go and where to eat. Even after checkout, they let me relax by the pool for a few hours before my flight back to Norway — something I really appreciated. It’s that kind of thoughtful hospitality that makes a place stand out. I’ll definitely be back! Best regards, Simen

We have just spent 3 nights at the Marques Garden House by Olivia in Porto and are absolutely delighted by the experience. The hotel is small in terms of the number of rooms however the rooms are a good size. Our room was on the top floor and there is no lift but we managed the stairs very well. The hotel has been converted from i assume a private dwelling at some point. Care has been taken to retain as many of the original features as possible and yet give the modern traveller everything you need. The staff are very welcoming with Carol deserving a special mention. If you like staying in branded hotels this is not for you, but if you like different and quirky this is great. It's location is excellent, out from the centre surrounded by locals but an easy walk or even easier metro ride to all of the action.
