We’d had a fantastic lunch on our last trip to Cartmel which influenced our overnight stay to break our journey home and we were not disappointed! We arrived to a warm welcome, and the most amazing and relaxing room. The bed was soooo comfortable along with a spacious bathroom. We had another fantastic meal in the evening meal; very seasonal with what I feel would be daily changes depending on market availability. There was a fantastic selection of beers and wine along with a whole of host of spirits if that was your thing. Definitely somewhere we will return.

Lovely room at the Royal Oak, perfect for a quick stay. Bed was comfy and shower was good, what more could you ask for! Pub was not open Sunday evening, so we didn't get to eat here, but heard that the food is very good. No breakfast in morning, but lots of options in Cartmel so wasn't an issue. Would recommend.

We book the room for a couple of days stay over during Cartmel races. Check-in was easy. The staff were more than helpful and the whole place was very relaxed. Location was absolutely perfect and the only minor issue is there is limited parking next to the hotel. Highly recommend.

This is really a pub with rooms. Suits us fine. Several places within 100 yards for breakfast. Lovely beers, friendly staff, welcoming to families, limited menu but v good cooking. Great room overlooking the square. Super beer garden. Recommend.

Lovely old building very conveniently situated for us. No television in the room, whilst not a problem for us, might prove an issue for others. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Clean, efficient and great location

Parking in the public carpark and the short walk to the hotel on a stormy night is something to consider.

It was good and convenient but there was no TV in the room and the included breakfast was limited, extra for latte, couldn’t have OJ and tea and cooked was half the size as the one if you purchased it. Also didn’t open for breakfast till 9.
