When I booked this property originally, I clearly requested room on GROUND FLOOR and NO STAIRS. Normally requests are not guaranteed, yet this hotel proceeded with confirmation of my reservation. Upon check in, I was advised that Monarch Hotel does NOT have rooms on the GROUND FLOOR, has NO ELEVATORS, and I would have to climb 30 plus stairs to reach my assigned room. Why was my reservation confirmed? Why wouldn't the property notify me in advance of the above details? Additionally, the photo they show of the room I booked is NOT the room I got. The room assigned to me is smaller, has NO chair and table, no place to open the suitcase (not even space on the floor!), and the air conditioning is ONLY for WARM air NOT for COLD air! The mini fridge is connected but does not work. When I checked in I was told the property does not have a relationship anymore with Expedia, that I would have to pay now to Monarch Hotel and that Expedia would refund my original payment !? This was a nightmare experience in many ways! I do NOT recommend this property!
