Priced fairly and convenient location

Water front

The Trailsman Lodge was interesting from the start. We got a text saying they moved us to another property 25 mins away, but then upon reaching out to Expedia, were told the supposed water issues they were having with the room were fixed. We checked in, and the location was ideal. The room itself was alright, bed was clean, and spacious. The washroom was decent too, but the hot water was brown. We didn’t get back until extremely late from hiking the Skyline Trail so we didn’t notice until we went to shower. And I’m not talking slightly tinted, more like merky, tan coloured brown. We were so tired at that point we just sucked it up and went to bed. Free breakfast though which was a bonus.

The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was fine, but the age of the facilities was showing through, and some things felt a little dated and run down.

The owner, Mac, was very accommodating and pleasant. The property was beautiful and the breakfast (included) was very good with a variety of options.

Place is just ok. A bit run down. For the price there are much better options just down the road in Baddeck.

This was one of the best hotels that I've stayed in. Rooms were very clean and spacious, breakfast was aslo very good. Will definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable, clean room. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Lake view is beautiful. Bit noisy by the main highway. Easy to locate.

It has exactly everything you need and is what I envision when I think of the perfect stat.
