Good location, clean and with hot pool

The hotel is located on the north side of Banff town, right along the main road (the town basically has one main north–south street), with a bus stop directly in front, which makes it very convenient. The hotel has two small outdoor hot pools with a beautiful snowy mountain backdrop — a very nice experience. There is also the Good Folk restaurant on the ground floor; it has a great atmosphere, though a bit expensive. At check-in, the front desk provides free transit passes (valid for 3 days; you can request another one after it expires) and complimentary coffee grounds. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are available upon request. Our room did not have bathrobes. When we asked the front desk, we were told they were in short supply and none were available, so we had to use bath towels to go to the hot pool. There was no microwave in the room initially, although we noticed an unused microwave placed on the carpet between our room and the neighboring one. Out of curiosity, I asked the front desk, and they immediately arranged to move it into our room (it seems like it might actually be standard equipment, but you need to request it). The hotel does not provide slippers. The room itself was decent overall. However, the heater/air conditioning unit was quite noisy. It would occasionally turn on during the night for heating, which slightly affected our sleep. One small tip: do not leave food on the balcony — birds will take it. Excellent stay in every way! Big rooms with balconies. Fresh pour over coffee in room. Locally made soaps and shampoos. Free bus tickets to get to town, which was also walkable. Great gym, sauna and hot pools all with mountain views. Free parking in onsite garage. I rarely leave a review, but this hotel really earned my praise.

Loved our stay here! The vibe was so inviting, and the staff truly treated us like family with their warm smiles. The bedroom was super clean and comfortable, giving us the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. 10/10 recommend!

We had a great stay at the Otter Hotel in Banff! The hotel was very clean throughout our visit, and every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful. One of the highlights was the rooftop hot pools—they were the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking and exploring! We also really appreciated the complimentary Roam bus pass, which made it easy to get into downtown Banff. That said, the walk into town was only about 15–20 minutes, so it was convenient either way. The only downside was that the rooms did not have a microwave. We were hoping to save a little money by preparing some simple meals, but with only a hot kettle available, our options were pretty limited. We ended up buying instant ramen and oatmeal from the convenience store across the street, since those were about the only foods we could easily make. Overall, I would recommend the Otter Hotel. The excellent staff, clean facilities, relaxing hot pools, and convenient location made for a wonderful stay. Just keep the lack of a microwave in mind if you plan on preparing your own meals.

A nice hotel and good location in Banff. The hot pools area was always very crowded and is a bit too small for the size of the hotel which was larger overall that we expected. I anticipated more of a "couples" hotel but it was a bit more family oriented from the looks of the pools.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Accomodations were clean and welcoming.

The room and bathroom were clean and we had daily house keeping. The hot tub terrace with the many fireplaces had a great view of the mountain, we sat around but did not use the hot tub. The hotel gave us free bus passes that we used a few times. They charged for the coffee in the room. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very fresh and good but expensive.

we enjoyed the stay, great location and beautiful rooftop pool The main thing that we felt could be improved was the air-conditioning, which was so noisy that we couldn’t use it at night because it kept turning on and off, it doesn’t have a silent mode, only maximum power auto which cycles on or off (50-60dB) which kept alternating and woke us up every half hour or so The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help us, offered us a different room, gave us a floorstanding fan, adjusted the room ventilation etc Special thanks to Leon!! and Emma who really positively contributed to our stay sauna was nice although temperature of 65 degrees Celcius rather low for our taste, suggest to increase to 75-80. beautiful location with fantastic mountain views, free parking, outside of summer heat should be even better.

Really nice hotel. It is at the far end of the main road so it is quiet.
