Nice hidden getaway

My 2nd stay here, very handy for Wickham Festival, less than 10mins walk to the site. The room was clean, ample space in the double room

The swan is a great place to stay the staff are lovely too

This was a very nice hotel, it was clean and comfortable, I would stay there again if I was in the area. I didn't give it full marks due to a few minor issues. - It is poorly signed from the road, the signs are just a picture of a swan, no sign of the name at all. This was exacerbated because Apple maps had it wrongly positioned about 100 yards up the road. - The lights in the bathroom are timed, and the motion sensors didn't work if you were in the shower, resulting in you being plunged into darkness every couple of minutes. - You had to order your breakfast the night before, it is so much better if you can order in the morning as you may feel like having something else. It was a good breakfast though.

It could be a lovely hotel, but with the recent hot summer weather the room was like an oven. Staff are helpful, it is clean, parking is plentiful and the outside seating area is pleasant, On cooler days it would no doubt be a nice place to stay.

Awful stay - room wasn’t properly cleaned, and did not have a fan supplied or cable tv channels as advertised, tv did not work properly so could not watch it. Windows wouldn’t open properly so without a fan room was very stuffy . Ridiculously noisy - doors slamming constantly and kids running up and down corridor constantly until very late. Not a pleasant experience at all .

We had 2 nights stay at the Royal Swan. We had a great welcome at check in and the room was spacious with a good bathroom. It wad very hot while we were there and we would have been grateful for aircon or even a fan. However it was really good value for money.

From the outside it doesn’t look very inviting, but inside very clean, brooms clean, I had one night for business travel which was adequate for me only down side no on site restaurant , but there is a very good pub for food 10 minutes walk away , plenty of parking and good breakfast in the morning

The stay was lovely. We ended up checking in very late as we came straight from a performance and CJ was so helpful and stayed 2 hours later thanks he was meant to let us in. Extremely accommodating!

We stayed for a night at Royal Swan Ashley Manor. It's a bit of a difficult find (even with satnav) as it's on a relatively fast treed road with little obvious signage. The outside is very unassuming and if you arrive late, you will likely have to find parking on the back lawn (it's fairly smooth and on a hot summer's day is actually preferred because there's shade there). The rooms are not difficult to find, and your room key is an old-fashioned actual key attached to a large plexiglass plate. The room is fairly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom we had was triangular and on the very small size, with a double-closet door entry that was frustrating in that it seemed unnecessary, was difficult to close due to interior trim that was falling out, and when opened the doors, the fan and light automatically turned one which means late-night visits to the washroom will wake up your partner with what at that time feels like a spotlight beam. Regardless, the room was clean, we slept well, and the staff were very helpful and responsive to questions and concerns.

Staff were great, rooms comfortable, good breakfast. Overall very good value for money

Really friendly helpful staff. It was in the middle of a heatwave and no fans in rooms - apparently on order - so worth checking before mid-summer stays. Otherwise, excellent value for money and will stay again

Authentisch britisch, ältere Liegenschaft die aber immer wieder etwas renoviert wurde. Freundliches Personal.

Great short stay no problems.

First the Good, Room clean and presented well, Shower very good,Pillows are not good go flat as soon as you put your head on. The not so good,No food available which I knew before arriving, but the bar was also in darkness, only two draft pumps which were off, with only a very small selection of bottles consisting of Corona, thatchers and an ale. Not a relaxing mood on arriving, you need to go to local Pub for food and drink. Overall it so just a bed for the night, for the price would like facilities to be open to relax.

Fantastic location with loads of parking. Staff were friendly. Rooms were huge with comfy beds and (once you’ve worked it out) good showers. We stayed in the heat wave and the rooms needed fans (on order by the hotel) and windows were tethered so wouldn’t fully open. Would happily stay again.

Room was like a sauna the The answer to that was to give you some complimentary water with some ice in it. Bar prices were absolutely ridiculous and run out of most of the beers anyway
