Good: The decoration of the room is cozy and in good classic style There is a bar on the ground floor which is good Staff are nice and friendly Bad: Strong smell in the bathroom which is disgusting, we think that comes from the eroding wood The water boiler is not clean and there is even water remain inside Being asked for the room key after check out but believe their staff mixed things up (Wrong number tag on the key)

Great pub, with lovely food & rooms.

Hotel is overall lovely and the staff were great. It was a red hot day but the Dyson fan in the room did help.....although a mini fridge may have keep the water cool. Breakfast was very tasty with proper ingredients and the location (on the edge of the little shopping area) was brilliant.

The property is timber framed and old, really old. Cleanliness and condition is very good but this building needs constant maintenance. We loved it, it’s very old and full of history. Very cute little town, very nice surroundings. We hit it in the middle of a heat wave and there is no AC, in fact there’s likely no AC in most of the village but the normal temperature does not require it. We were just unlucky. The pub/restaurant downstairs is very nice, very cool old England look. The breakfast was outstanding but I might pass on dinner there again. We loved The Crown Inn, a charming place to stay.

Cozy vintage hotel with a pub on lower level. Staff friendly and helpful. Only draw back was stairs to the room.

First time here, fantastic gem in a very quaint spot. We really loved our room, felt like we were back in time, was so unique - for anyone cruising out of Southampton cruise terminal would highly recommend a night here!!!! We loved it.

The Crown Inn is a lovely place to stay.

Classic English accommodations. An updated old Inn, I'll guess 1700s, complete with neighborhood pub on ground floor. Ceilings are still low, hit my head, but learned quickly. I got room 3, a little noisy from staff congregation outside, get a diff one yourself. Old timey pull chain on toilet , hilarious. Cool little village too, with fish n chips shop, but the fish n chips in The Crown Inn restaurant were great. We stayed here purposely for the UK experience vs boring corporate hotel marble and glass towers. Well worth the extra taxi fare.

Stayed for one night. Had an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. The food was excellent value for money. The breakfast buffet choices were amazing. We stay here every year on our way to Portugal. Just love the place. We took our two dogs with us. The staff are very friendly and really helpful.

From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of history woven into the space, balanced with thoughtful modern touches. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, with everything you would expect from a hotel of this standard—quality tea and coffee facilities, a proper coffee machine, and carefully considered amenities that elevate the stay. The bedding and overall room setup make it easy to settle in and relax. Service is another strong point. The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which adds to the overall experience and reflects a well-managed property. However, one element did impact the stay. Across multiple rooms (Rooms 7 and 8, as well as another in our group), there was noticeable noise during the night, likely coming from kitchen ventilation or extractor fans. While we raised this with the team and trust it will be addressed, it did disrupt sleep and is worth noting. Recommendation: If you’re considering staying here, it’s absolutely worth it for the atmosphere, comfort, and service—but I would recommend contacting the hotel ahead of booking to confirm that the noise issue has been resolved or to request a quieter room. Overall, a beautiful property with strong fundamentals—just one operational detail to refine for a truly five-star experience.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at The Crown Inn. The location is perfect and easy to find, parking was simple in the car park opposite. We had the four poster room which was amazing. Very spacious and a massive bathroom too. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We loved our stay

Wonderful stay. Our room was spotless,everything just lovely. We arrived early so had a lunch and had booked a table for dinner. The service in all areas was exceptional. Thankyou to all for a wonderful time with you. We will be back sgain.
