Sonder Testaccio benefits from a convenient location in a safe and quiet area. It is surrounded by pleasant restaurants and is close to a local market. For just EUR 15 per person, guests can enjoy a delicious continental breakfast. The front desk staff are consistently helpful and friendly.

We loved that this property was less than one block from Testaccio Market, where we ate several meals and did some shopping. It was modern, comfortable, and near several bus lines. We liked the fact that Testaccio is still primarily a residential area, because we didn't want to be in a big tourist area.

Unfortunately we did not have the best of experiences. We understand this was due to Expedia not following proper marketing ethics however nothing was able to be done by the hotel as well. When we booked I picked a room that’s said King size bed room. The picture showed a normal room with a normal bathroom. So I selected it and paid for it. Upon arrive we found out that the washroom we got was an accessibility washroom and it was not fun to use. We were told to read the description of the room selection where it states that it’s an accessibility washroom however it doesn’t change the fact that Expedia used normal room pictures for that room selection. It’s a way to trick customers and then they have a no cancellation or change policy for our reservation. Expedia’s customer service was horrible and the hotel was not able to make any changes for our stay. We tried calling Expedia’s 24 hour customer service line and it kept hanging up when we tried to pick one of the many options. The hotel also tried to charge us for breakfast we never had. Overall the hotel quality was good however be wary when booking through Expedia as they will often not show exact pictures for the rooms.

We loved staying here while in Rome! The service was great, and the hotel is clean and quiet. The room itself had a great bathroom, AC, and balcony. I would definitely recommend.

The staff at Sonder is exceptional. They attentive and efficient.

If you want to stay out of the hustle and crowds of central Rome this did it for us. Only things around are tons of awesome restaurants and the best market right next door. Will be back!

Eine tolle Unterkunft, nicht weit vom Zentrum Roms in ruhiger Lage. Das Hotel ist gut angebunden, es fahren mehrere Busse in der Nähe. Sehr freundliches Personal, immer hilfreich bei Anliegen und Fragen, ein Zimmertausch war problemlos möglich (von Terasse zu Balkon). Zimmer sauber, modern und ansprechend ei gerichtet. Frühstück ausreichend und lecker. Rund um die Uhr Kaffee und Wasser verfügbar.

We loved our stay at Sonder Testaccio - the location is a bit out of the core of Rome, however this is exactly what we were looking for and to get away from the hustle/bustle and tourists. We were pleasantly surprised to find many locals at the nearby restaurants - our favourite being "Pecorino", just across the street. Honestly some of the best food we had in Rome! The room itself was very spacious per North American standards. It was really nice to have a king size bed and plenty of space for our luggage (something you don't usually get in European hotels). The water station/coffee amenities were also really appreciated (*note* you have to pay for water absolutely everywhere in Italy). The staff was also very friendly and accomodating - especially during our unusual 3am checkout time! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Perfect location in Testaccio. Good sized room, huge bed with a great mattress, good shower, nice patio space - all hard to find in Italy.

Sonder was AMAZING! This property is so close to Trastevere and is extremely walkable to get to some of the historic sites like the Colosseum. There is also a great market that opens daily from 7am-3pm right next door that has great food and shop options! We loved our stay here and would highly recommend!

Great stay! This property is in a perfect location... away from the tourist areas, but walkable to them if need be. You have a local market right outside your door. The room itself is very clean, and you are able to get a wonderful breakfast if need be right in the lobby.

Goede ligging, aangenaam verblijf

This was a great base for our 3 day Rome adventure. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the subway, the Market next door has some amazing food and it's walking distance to lots of great restaurants. The hotel is nice, quiet, good beds and loved the blackout shades. The one thing that was slightly annoying as the shower, the bathroom is a wet room so when you took a shower the floor got wet in the entire room. A little annoying but not the end of the world, we weren't sure if that was just our room or if all the rooms were like that. Anyway, we'd stay there again, it was really comfortable and had a great breakfast.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2025. Easy to find and only 15 minutes from Piramide Metro Station. Quick walk to River and many dining options. 10 minute walk to most buses to take you to Colloseum and Metro to other places in Rome. The room was amazing with a cute private patio to eat on. We did Take away from the local Italian restaurants and ate there at night after long days of walking around Rome. Neighborhood is quiet and also a McDonald’s downstairs. Free coffee and fridge in Room and there is an option to purchase breakfast. The staff were amazing! Walking distance to the new Mercato Central next door with lots of food options in the daytime or fresh fruit, meat etc. Testaccio was lovely as away from the hustle and bustle of Rome!

It was an amazing hotel and space to stay for a shoet stay in Rome. Located outside of the busy city center, thr hotel was extremely accessible to local shops, groceries and great restuarants. The staff were extremely helpful and the rooms and shared spaces were spacious, comfortable and clean.

Love this part of Roma to stay and have dinner with locals in the evening
