I had a great experience at AC Hotel by Marriott. I arrived around 19:00, and check-in was fast and smooth. The staff provided me with the room I booked without any issues. The room itself is spacious and well-maintained, with good amenities. If you need slippers or a toothbrush, just ask at the reception. The bed is very comfortable, and I slept soundly during my stay. The hotel’s location is excellent — right in downtown Ottawa, next to ByWard Market. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including McDonald’s, and the Rideau Center shopping mall is just a short walk away. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Ottawa.

The outside of the hotel was the disappointing part of our stay as there were several unhoused people laying in front of the entrance and visibly using substances with tournaquets and needles. Our room was very clean with comfortable beds. The coffee maker did not work and there were limited soaps, lotions etc in the bathroom. I expected a bit more for the price we paid.

Hotel accomodated marathon runners for the weekend. Late check out was not possible upon request, though they gave access to the pool area so we could still get changed and showered after the race. Made a wet and cold marathon more enjoyable as a traveler to the city.

Great location - in walking distance to shops, restaurants, Parliament Buildings, and other major attractions. Nicely maintained property and beautiful rooms with modern and clean finishes. We would stay here again.

A rather standard hotel with nothing exceptional of note. A difficult location, close to Byward Market and Parliament Hill which was good, but an area that did not always feel safe.

The property is exquisite, very clean, well maintained, and beautifully presented. The rooms were excellent, with comfortable beds and a modern, spacious bathroom. Most of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location is within walking distance of the famous ByWard Market, which is convenient; however, the surrounding area has a noticeable number of homeless individuals and people begging on the sidewalks. This made walking around less pleasant, and it’s important to note that the neighborhood is not as clean or polished as the hotel itself. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, though quite pricey. On one of the mornings, service was very slow, likely due to staffing challenges given the number of guests, which was disappointing. Parking is also expensive. I would have expected complimentary parking at a hotel of this level. We were fortunate to secure a spot on-site; otherwise, we would have had to use one of the public parking lots several blocks away. If you’re visiting during peak season, I recommend arriving a few hours before check-in and asking reception for a parking pass as early as possible. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with great amenities, but the surrounding area and some service limitations are worth keeping in mind.
