Checked in, met the staff (who were fantastic), met the mosquitoes (who were even more numerous), and checked out. The hotel was clean, the staff was kind and helpful, and the room had all the basics. Unfortunately, it also came with what felt like an all-inclusive mosquito experience. After an island-wide power outage and a losing battle with the local mosquito community, we decided our vacation could be better spent elsewhere. Five stars for the staff. The mosquitoes would probably give it five stars too.

We arrived a day late due to the timing of our flight and the water taxi times. When we arrived our room was not ready although it was the next day. They first stated that they had given the room to someone else but then they apologized and said it was actually available but not clean yet. When they did give us the room we noticed the balcony door didn’t have a key to lock it. Reception stated they didn’t have a key for it. I requested a different room because it looked like there was a possibility someone getting in from the balcony. It also had no outlets to plug our devices. They did accommodate and were nice about moving us to another room. But this hotel is very outdated. They do not come clean daily. Their floor mats in the restroom are old and dirty. The bathroom is not clean or have towel racks or anywhere to put your shampoo or shower items. We got placed on the third floor the second time and there is no elevator, the stairs are uneven and with very high steps. We carried our own luggage up the three flights of stairs. I don’t usually like to give bad reviews but I don’t want anyone else to get high expectations from this place.

Everything you need , the basic is here the plus my room came w a fridge thats big saving to buy drinks or food and keep it cold also a/c works great

Pretty easy stay to get around the city.

I totally enjoyed my stay and I would highly recommend this property!!! I enjoyed the pool and the poolside bar I loved my room my only issue was the shower but overall I loved the politeness of the staff. We were able to do our laundry the people do it for you … San Pedro is a beautiful place as well as Caye Chaulker…I will be back oh I choose the water taxi and the food was delicious Fry Jacks are a must try!!!

The room was clean and had AC. The staff were very nice. But this hotel is very loud. You can hear people talking in the hallways late at night or VERY early in the morning. So if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs ! Decent location though and we enjoyed our stay.

The only way I can describe this place is it should be under motel not hotel. I book solely for distance and the price because I was island hopping throughout the trip. The hotel bathroom and hallways has an horrific smell the room was only ok if the AC was running nonstop the sheets have multiple stain and hair in the sheets. If I can’t relax to sleep without the fear of improper clean sheets it’s just not worth it. If that’s ur vibe book it. The only positive here the front desk concierge was nice!

It was great I like it I was close to everything.

I enjoyed my stay here. Nice calm spot. Close to stores and the water Taxi. Would stay again if I am ever In San Pedro!

The rooms in this property is so out of date idk how they received a 3.9 star rating. The 1st room they gave me had mold in the ceiling and walls. The 2nd room ended up having roaches my 2nd day. I had to leave mid way thru my trip and get a different hotel. Only highlights are the air conditioning is really good, the bed was comfy, and the pool was clean. The restaurant on the property was really good and the waitress/ bartender girl was really nice and friendly. Other then that you pretty much get what you paid for. There's a reason why the price is so cheap.

Cons Noisy!! 3 am in the morning someone was passing with their speaker box on blast, you also hear everyone passing in the hallway very loudly! No phone in the room No elevators (lift bags up stairs) No coffee tea station WiFi poor/spotty The City view is terrible No desk and chair for working No bedside lamp Shower stains (hate shower stains!!) They don’t have a system to reserve your card so they ask you to write down your card information (all of it!), this info plus a copy of your passport/ID can easily lead to credit card scam if it gets into the wrong hands. Pros The room is clean It’s located close to the ferry station and the airport

The property was fine enough. The price was good. The location was good. It was fine. The pics were definitely more beautiful than the property but the property wasn't bad. I could stay here again.

It was great they had 2 pools... 1 of them on top floor with great view. I liked that they didn't just come (early) for room service. We like to sleep in and we just dropped off the key when we wanted it done. Glad to support a hotel run by actual Belizeans rather than international owners. Nice central location close to water taxi.

The staff at the Tropical Palace were excellent. There were a few issues with our room that were addressed quickly, although the problems weren’t always resolved. If you are thrifty in your travels, this accommodation is OK.
