I was absolutely appalled by the state and smell of the hotel , I don’t ever leave reviews especially bad ones but this hotel people need to know about it , first of all you have no idea where the main door is plus to bring your stuff up is a joke , the underground is this dark dun-gee hole that you need to get out and manually open this cheap door , then there is next to no lighting underneath.. then you got to walk all the way around the building to get to the main door , when you walk in the place is dark and depressing and smells like human piss , the elevator didn’t work and the stairs had no carpet and looked almost moldy ., there is also bikes and walkers right by front office and clear obvious signs that there is low income suits also ., there is also a needle box that I forgot to add by the parking .. I did not feel safe especially with having my 3 young children there ., if I wasn’t with my boyfriend I would have left and slept in the car , that’s how bad this place was . Also to charge me $200 was insane and I paid extra for a nicer room which I did not get

It was so bad that we did not stay there

The room I was in was newly renovated an actually ok. However, there was no hot water in the morning. There was a Kureig but no pods or coffee cups. And people were smoking on both the 2nd and 3rd floors as I was walking up. Oh yes the elevator was broken - it was ok on a 3rd floor walk up but I don't think that was originally advertised. It also looks like a horror movie until you actually get inside the room. The staff was very nice and accommodating however there's no person at the front all the time, you have to call to get someone to help you

Everything was good

The advertisement for this hotel was false, the walk from the road to around the corner to get to the hotel had over a dozen Crack heads, yelling vulgar and other things, had to weave through them, they were also loitering the steps to get in, the main door was locked, only 8pm. The door was locked behind me made me when i finally got in(nice staff though)uncomfortable and nervous, the smell was absolutely nauseating. I left upset and unsettled!

It was under renovation. No elevator. The hallways and staircase looked rough but the rooms were clean and newly renovated. The bathroom looked modern and the shower was good.

We were not advised that the hotel was under renovations. There was no elevator, carpets were tore up on the stairs and hallway resulting in a horrible smell. There were no staff on hand, the main door was locked and you had to call and wait for someone to come let you in. The underground parking was scary. While the room was clean there were no supplies and the towel rack and toilet paper holders were hanging off the wall.

We cancelled our reservation because when we got there, the elevator was not working and the building was under construction. I have a senior husband and we need elevators to get the luggage into the building so we did not stay.

As many have mentioned, they are renovating. Once complete, I’m sure this will be a gem. The room was newly renovated and very nice and clean, but hot, as there was just a portable air conditioner which tried its best but couldn’t beat the heat. The beds were very comfortable! The elevator is also not work, so the stairs were a bit of a workout with all the luggage.

You should not have it on your website We canceled hotel because lobby door was locked. Windows were broken I phoned number on door they never called back so I canceled it before 6

What a dump. Looked like an old slop house that they were trying to renovate. Construction everywhere. Room was on third floor and elevator wasn't working. Would have been nice to know all of this before booking. Bed was very comfortable and they had secure parking, which were the only positves.

The rooms were nice. The single staff member was as helpful as he could be. But the air conditioner was a portable machine that didn't keep the room cool. When we checked in, a staff member said the hotel was under renovation and that we could cancel our reservation. This was a Friday evening in the height of the tourism season. We should have been informed weeks before we arrived. The hallway smelled strongly of feces and urine. On the Saturday afternoon of our stay, there was animal feces in the hallway. It wasn't large, but it wasn't sanitary. Also, there is very little parking for the hotel. If you have a small vehicle, they have indoor parking. Though if you have a SUV or a Truck, there is an area behind the hotel that is owned by another company in which you are allowed to park if not in use. All other parking in downtown Kenora is paid parking with a two-hour limit. This hotel is VERY OVERPRICED!

The hotel was under renovation when I arrived. But walked up to the room and discovered a beautiful view and clean room. However the elevator was not working so I had to walk up 2 floors. The place was a gem.

As others have mentioned the hotel is under renovation. The rooms are completely redone and up to date. If you have problem with stairs this is not the place for you as the elevator is not in service. The garage is secure, if a little unconventional. Manual operation of the door. I would stay there again.

Hotel under renovation so no elevator to third floor. 84 year old husband had to drag cases up 37 steps. A little cheaper than other available lodging but comes with some drawbacks. Room was clean and well appointed but air conditioner loud.

Building was in terrible condition. Windows broken. Plywood over missing windows. Elevator was broken. I would not put my dog up in this hotel Please take this location off your viewing

They are currently undergoing renovation i hope they finish and restore the hotel to the best possible shape.

The hotel was locked when we arrived, with a phone number on the front door to call if we wanted access. It took less than a minute once we called. Elevator was not working. We were supposed to have a room on the 3rd floor, the man at the desk told us we could cancel without penalty, but we kept the reservation when offered to have a room on the 2nd floor and after seeing the room. Room was very old but clean, beds were comfortable. Portable air conditioning was efficient. We could hear the people above us moving stuff around for a while once we got in bed, but the night was quiet. Hotel has a private parking with non automated door, but we did not use it as we had a spot on the side with no parking fees on Sunday. All that being said, I would probably book here again since the price is so low compared with other hotels in Kenora. When the renovations are done, this could be a nice place.
