To be fair it is under renovations. The room we stayed in was CLEAN and nice however there was no hot water at night and no cold water in the morning and no air conditioning. Also there is no bolt on the door (which is alarming for solo female travellers) it was also very apparent that on the event of a fire everyone was going to die. No windows to open and no easy stair accesss.

No hot water in the shower. No window that can open in the bedroom ( heat accumulates ) Fridge making a very loud intermittent high pitch noise ( had to disconnect it ) TV was not set up, I had to look at cables the wall and the system to make it work. The metal plate in the front door was not screwed in, I had to screw them myself for the door to function had intended. They are renovating, but they should not rent a room like this. They should give a partial refund, it does not deserve to be charged full price. On the positive end, the guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful, the room itself was clean and the sheets were clean, the room itself has been renovated so it’s nice and modern.

The staff was helpful and transparent with the status of the hotel. Expedia shouldn’t list this hotel until it is fully renovated

Well the building was under construction the toilet seat had poo all over, windows were not cleaned and broken and the tables were dusty

The hotel is under renovation at this moment so lift is closed and need to climb up with your luggage. Room is okay, clean but soundproof is poor.

As of May 2026 the hotel is undergoing renovations. Serious renovations. The room was finished and clean with excellent work showing, but the elevator is nonfunctional and the floors have to be reached on stairs stripped of flooring, carpets, and even paint. If you have difficulty climbing 48 stairs to reach the rooms on the second floor, you may want to spend your stay in Kenora at a different Hotel. If you are interested in comfortable rooms, reasonable rates, excellent facilities within the room, with a fine restaurant, and are not put off by a hefty dose of exercise, then please be aware that the Kenricia Hotel is a wonderful spot for a good night's rest.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, and during that entire period I was only able to take one proper shower because there was no hot water available. My wife was on her menstrual period at the time, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Spending almost three days without access to a proper hot shower is simply unacceptable and far below the minimum standard expected from a hotel stay. When we first reported the issue after check-in, we were told that too many guests were using the hot water system at the same time and that the system could not handle the demand. We were advised to “try again later.” I continued trying every 30 minutes until nearly midnight, and the water was still cold. In addition, the property appears to be under renovation, although this was never clearly communicated beforehand. The common areas are in poor condition and create an uncomfortable and somewhat unsafe atmosphere. Even the hallways appear damaged and unsettling. To be fair, the rooms themselves are renovated, clean, and look modern inside. However, the lack of basic amenities such as reliable hot water, combined with the overall condition of the property, significantly affected our experience and made the stay very disappointing.

It was a nice room

Made me wait 20 mins in the cold because there wasn’t anyone at front desk,I paid for a partial lake view that didn’t exist (was all alleyway) elevator didn’t work so had to carry luggage up to third floor, zero hot water after letting it run for 10 mins, and there was a dead bird under my bed that when I brought up to staff they did absolutely nothing for me. It was unhygienic and disgusting, the health department should shut it down, and atleast refund me

NOTHING HERE WAS GOOD! DONT STAY! KENRICIA HOTEL IS SO UNSANITARY AND IT SMELLS LIKE DRUGS, NO STAFF IS AROUND AND DONT EVEN GET ME TALKING ABOUT THE CREEPY PARKADE. WE LEFT AND DID NOT STAY.

My review is similar to many here. The property is in the midst of a renovation. The rooms they rent are all completely renovated, clean and comfortable. But as yet, there is no elevator. My room was on the 3rd floor. The hallways were clear, but it’s clearly a construction zone. The parking was secure, but a bit unconventional. Your key card unlocks the door, then you have to slide it open, drive in, and close it behind you. But it was nice to have my car warm and secure.

Lacking staff no one working from desk. Hotel is in bad condition. Bad odours in hallways. Would never stay here again.

Great location but the whole hotel is very sketchy. The actual room itself was pretty good but getting to the room was a bit scary!

Hotel under reno but so far it's pretty quiet and rooms are really nice

There was no hot water in my room. Driving 11 hours today and all I wanted was a hot shower. No carpet or flooring in hallways just floorboards. Elevator doesn't work and we're on the 3rd floor. Front desk gave us a number to call for help with the water....and that person's response was "we're not there, sorry". Awful place...

This hotel is under renovation and should be in the market. No elevator, going up the stairs to 3ed florr, cold air blowing in the room from around the window AC, staris are not carpeted and are noisy, for parking you have to go around the hotel and open the manual gate and close it manually. The reception staff was nice and helpful, but the hotel condition is uninhabitable. Dirty carpet in the room.

Clean, Quiet room, Under renovation but easy acces

Motel is being renovated. Offered us a third floor room but elevator was out of order. Very bad. Cancelled reservation.
