I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. While the hotel is located a bit further from the train station, the convenient transfer service provided by the hotel made it incredibly easy to get to and from, eliminating any inconvenience. The hotel itself is exceptionally stylish and beautiful. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered stunning views of the mountains. Housekeeping was excellent, with daily cleaning and towel changes. The staff were absolutely fantastic – friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. I opted for the half-board option, which included breakfast and dinner served à la carte. Dinners were a highlight, with a varied menu and delicious desserts. While breakfast wasn't as diverse, the staff were incredibly accommodating and always offered my child options not listed on the menu. This was a really thoughtful touch. One of the standout features of the hotel was the sauna complex, which included an infrared sauna, a Finnish sauna, and a bio sauna. It was a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The room was always comfortably warm, which was much appreciated. The hotel also provided complimentary sledges for my child, as well as a cot in the room. The hotel also offered comfortable communal areas where guests could relax, play games, or read. The building itself is in a classic style but is very well maintained, giving it a charming and elegant atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel

we loved our stay at villa excelsior, it was so charming and beautiful, we felt like a princess. The sauna is also very nice and the food was wonderful!

Härligt hotell i gammal stil med mycket kuriosa och prylar i alla hörn. Rent och prydligt, renoverade badrum. Väldigt bra och personlig service! Bra mat. Bastu och kurbad.

We had an excellent stay at Villa Excelsior this summer. Christof with staff made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy Bad Gastein. Probably the most friendly and accommodating hotel I have ever been to. Good food, beautiful surroundings, and charming house. Strongly recommend a stay!

Bad Gastein legvonzóbb szállodájában töltöttem három éjszakát. Tökéletes környezet , gondoskodó kiszolgálás, a vacsorák mindig igényes , ízletes ételeket tartalmaztak.

Everything was perfect from the beginning till the end, too soon though. Beautiful location - a little bit outside, which is advantage! Owner, service - couldn't be better! Just a place with a soul. Simply - excelsior!

Wunderschönes Hotel mit einem ganz besonderen Ambiente. Schöne Zimmer mit viel Flair. Das Gebäude und die Einrichtung sind eine Zeitreise. Alles wurde schön restauriert und aufgearbeitet. Super Service, sehr freundliche und stets hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Frühstück und Abendessen waren immer sehr gut. Sowohl Thermalbäder als auch Massagen haben wir sehr genossen. Wir waren nicht das letzte mal hier. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

I travelled with a friend to this beautiful hotel. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner who took us to our room himself while telling interesting facts about the hotel. Our stay was very pleasent, the service and breakfast were also good. We decided to skip the last night, and instead drive home at 10pm. Checking out was no problem, and the owner even supplied us with sandwiches, snacks and drinks for our drive home. Don’t expect a super modern hotel, but an authentic, warm and history filled experience. Highly recommended.

Ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt - von der Abholung bis zum Rücktransfer zum Bahnhof in Bad Gastein! Kompliment an die Hoteliersfamilie Erharter, die den Aufenthalt in ihrem stilvollen Haus zu einem erholsamen Erlebnis gemacht haben! Unmittelbar nach Lockerung der coronabedingten Beschränkungen war das Haus geöffnet und voll belegt - ganz im Gegensatz zu den vielen geschlossenen Betrieben in Bad Gastein; wegen fehlendem Stamm-Personal, das aufgrund der Einreisebeschränkungen noch nicht nach Österreich einreisen durfte, war die ganze Familie im Einsatz und um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht - der Chef bediente selber im Restaurant, und die Chefin zauberte in der Küche köstliche Gerichte der österreichischen Küche, während die Seniorchefin sich um die Kurangelegenheiten kümmerte; ein Gästemix von jung bis alt, Familien wie weltoffene Singles garantiert ein lebendiges Haus, in dem keine fade Sanatoriumsstimmung aufkommt; die ganze Anlage von den Zimmern bis zu den gemeinschaftlich genutzten Räumen strahlt eine grundsolide und stilvolle Athmosphäre aus, die Verpflegung (großes Frühstück und Abendessen mit Wahlmenü) lässt keine Wünsche offen; das Preis- Leistungsverhälnis ist ausgezeichnet, also die besten Voraussetzungen, wie viele andere Gäste zum Wiederholungstäter zu werden und das persönliche Engagement der Eigentümerfamilie zu genießen - ein wohltuender Unterschied zu den gesichtslosen und unpersönlichen Kettenhotels

Vi var rigtig glade og tilfreds med opholdet på hotellet, i uge 7. Stort morgenbuffet, og og 3 retter til aftensmad, og altid to slags og vælge imellem de tre retter. Rene duge og stofservietter, som blev skiftet morgen og aften. Meget venlige personale, og værtspar. Der var en lille opholdsstue og bar, som havde åbent om aftnen, hvor hotelchefen selv stod i baren, og skabte hyggelig stemning. Deres koncept er en ældre elegant stil, men meget hyggeligt. Lidt slidte værelser, men der blev gjort rent hver dag. Da vi ankom sent, så stod de og ventede med aftensmad, og da vi ville tidlig afsted på den sidste dag, så havde hotelfruen, gjort madpakker klar til os på rejsen. Vi vil helt klart anbefale dem, og kommer gerne igen.

We spent a charming two nights in a double mountain view room at Villa Excelsior during winter season, a historic hotel bit removed from the historic center of Bad Gastein. The hotel offers complimentary pickup from the train station and is an easy (and picturesque) walk from the historic center. The half-board option includes a buffet breakfast (delicious coffee!) and a gourmet dinner in a classy dining room with excellent service. The hotel also has a wellness with different saunas and a relaxation room (that we used daily before dinner), and offers massage service and thermal baths (that we didn't use). There are also many public area sitting rooms. While there are probably more luxurious places than the three star hotel, would return for the excellent service, historic feeling, and quiet / comfortable rooms. I believe it's possible to book for dinner, which is well worth it even if one is not staying at the hotel.

After reading great reviews about this property, we were disappointed with our stay. The room wasn't what we expected based on pictures, and yes, we looked at photos of the correct room type. It also wasn't that clean. The biggest disappointment was the amenities, which was the reason we booked the hotel in the first place. They are only available during limited hours, and we ended up going to the Felsentherme instead, which was nice, but defeated the purpose of booking this hotel. The breakfast was good and the best part of the stay.

En fantastisk tidsrejse tilbage til «Belle Epoque». Smukke rum, indrettet som for 120 år siden, superb restaurant - såvel morgen som aftensmad helt i top! Udsigt, beliggenhed, atmosfære, service, personale...super godt. Jeg glæder mig allerede til at vende tilbage snarest muligt.

The Villa Excelsior is a well maintained, traditional hotel. Service is attentive and friendly, food was very good (we stayed half-board). The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the centre, in a lovely location overlooking the valley. We were hiking every day, and it was a perfect start point to get up into the mountains. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay, and would rate it very highly also for value for money.

Very nice hotel located just a short walk from city center. Hikes accessible directly from hotel or a short drive with car. Staff and owner are very friendly an service oriented. We had the half board which was ok. Breakfast very good. A nice place to stay and recommendable!
