Sweetfield Manor

The property is beautiful and the staff is very professional and helpful. Only complaint is that they close the dinner restaurant the first part of the week.

Was quiet and relaxing. The peacocks and pool area were my best views. Country is also safe to walk and taxi from savvy on the beach is cheap than booking a ride or tours.

Dinner restaurant was suspended until the Fall. I had to order out for food to be brought in. Breakfast was served the next morning, however. The property was truly 5-star otherwise.

It's a lovely property with nice staff. The restaurant food is also great.

Alisha greeted us upon arrival and was very helpful in navigating our stay by providing essential information regarding places of interest, transportation, food and entertainment. Her pleasant attitude and demeanor were extremely welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay, and are looking forward to our next adventure.

This is a tricky review to write as some things about Sweetfield Manor were very good but others were not. Firstly, the place advertises itself as a 5 star boutique hotel, boutique is correct, 5 star definitely not. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with an excellent shower room. However, the first thing that we were told when being shown to the room was that there were two small bottles of water which were complimentary but any further water would have to be bought - surely two small bottles of water a day is not too much to ask for given the price we paid. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and, although the food was fine, there were many items on the menu that were "not available today". The staff were generally helpful and friendly although the barman on the first evening seemed to find serving us was an inconvenience. The buildings and grounds could certainly do with some major maintenance. It is obviously a heritage building but that doesn't excuse missing and broken spindles on the staircase and the exterior of the building needs refurbishing. The pool was lovely but again, the area around it looked unloved. There was a terrace just outside reception which had tables and parasols but no chairs so could not be used. This place could be really fabulous with some money and effort but I would not stay there again unless there was evidence of a major refurbishment. The peacocks however were fabulous!

Beautiful property; helpful staff

The manor house common areas are decorated artfully and the seating is comfortable. The pool is made to look like a grotto and is very pleasant, especially when the frogs start to sing. Strolling the grounds is a treat and the peacocks are quite entertaining. The dining is excellent and I had shrimp each day in different dishes. The chef cooks it perfectly!

The hotel is an old plantation house and full of character, however it does need updating and some maintenance.

I had a very sweet room with a lovely outdoor veranda, but it didn’t feel very secure. The staff were helpful and charming but there was a snafu with my transfer from the airport. I didn’t appreciate being told to “take a little walk to reception” to cancel my brunch reservation when I was jet-lagged and still in bed. The rum punch was delicious.

The hotel was fabulous. Great clean room. Very friendly, helpful staff. Very quiet, park like hotel. Lots of beautiful peacocks abound. Incredibly beautiful pool.

Good selection

This poor old manor needs a major facelift. She way past her prime. The staff was very nice but that’s really where the good ended. The grounds need a major manicure, the building is in disrepair and really needs to be closed for a major renovation. The restaurant is extremely expensive and very small portions. 3 silver dollar pancakes $9US. The pool “area” needs to have a more dedicated area. The loungers were just set in a shared grassy area. Not very relaxing. For a night before a cruise it would work, but for anything longer I’d stay somewhere else. It’s very far from any decent restaurants or the beach. A taxi each way is $25 Barbados. I’d pick somewhere else next time.

This was a wonderful visit because of the staff who were ll delightful and accommodating. Big shout out ot Jason the driver who was great in transporting us!! Only one issue we had "No Hot water" most of our visit due to the solar heating of water it had been overcast little sun. We were told they turned on heater but still cold. Please don't let that keep you from staying the positives do OUTWEIGH ANY negatives. We absolutely loved our room and stay. Thank you for a wonderful time especially the view of fireworks NYE on the deck we saw 4 different firework shows from the deck area in the backyard.

Lovely room with comfortable bed. Large shower with fluffy towels. Enjoyed happy hour with excellent, friendly bartender. Peaceful garden setting

Nice simple room, good food and mostly very nice service.

Room spotless. Bed very comfortable. Food excellent. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed at.

Enjoyed our one night stay here waiting to get on a cruise. Former plantation, pretty grounds with peacocks! Staff were very nice and helpful.

The sweetfield manor is a hidden gem.its like living in the heart of nature.peacocks walking around.the occasional munkey passing through. Hummbirds birds making there rounds through the flowers in the morning. The staff are very helpful and over the top nice people.they seem like family to us now.it was very hard to leave. Words can't even describe our trip .awesome
