The hotel was more than wonderful, starting from the warm welcome and smooth check-in process. The professionalism of the reception staff was outstanding, as was the excellent service in the restaurant and the great variety of food offered in the buffet. The housekeeping team and the generous hospitality of Madam Samia made the stay even more special.
The hotel’s location in downtown Alexandria, directly on the seaside, is truly exceptional. Watching both the sunrise and sunset with a full panoramic view of the Eastern Harbor was breathtaking — from El Silsila and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in the east all the way to the Citadel in the west. The deep blue color of the sea and the shimmering silver reflections of the sunlight on the water created an unforgettable scene.
Being located in Ramleh Station, a major transportation hub, the hotel is surrounded by countless restaurants, entertainment venues, and cinemas. The historical charm of the area and Saad Zaghloul Square add even more character to the experience.
The hotel’s classic architectural design carries the elegance and history of the early twentieth century, with magnificent wood craftsmanship throughout the property. Many important historical figures stayed at this hotel, including Sir Winston Churchill and the world-famous boxer Muhammad Ali. I was fortunate enough to stay in the spacious Taha Hussein Room, which had a magnificent view.

This is my second time staying at the Cecil i love the history and everything about the hotel to me i also love the location middle of the city but I'd you prefer a quieter area that might not be the best choice for you inside the room all was perfect
Mr Ali at the reception was amazing accommodating and i cannot sing enough praises for him and also the staff that handles the luggage and the room

Fantastic large room with high ceilings and great view. Location means there is traffic noise past midnight, but that doesn’t bother us - just steps to the Corniche. Best location in Alexandria. Bed was very comfy! Internet a bit weak.

Mon séjour à Alexandrie a été absolument parfait grâce à cet hôtel exceptionnel ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec une chaleur et une gentillesse incroyables, on se sent vraiment comme à la maison. Tout le personnel est d’une bienveillance rare, toujours souriant, disponible et attentionné.
Je tiens à adresser un immense merci à Yousra, Imen et Mahmoud, les housekeepers de notre étage, pour leur professionnalisme, leur gentillesse et leurs petites attentions quotidiennes. Grâce à eux, notre chambre était toujours impeccable et pleine de bonnes ondes.
Un grand merci également à la personne de l’accueil (je crois qu’il s’appelait Ali) qui nous a reçus à notre arrivée et s’est occupé de notre check-in avec une grande amabilité et un professionnalisme exemplaire.
Un grand bravo à toute l’équipe pour cette ambiance conviviale et authentique, on sent qu’ils aiment leur travail et qu’ils ont à cœur de rendre le séjour des clients inoubliable.
Je recommande cet hôtel les yeux fermés et j’y reviendrai sans hésiter lors de mon prochain passage à Alexandrie !

Amazing old world charm. Def stay there. Great cocktails and service was very friendly and helpful by everyone. Nice bed. Some rooms may be noisy for some people if you are on the main road. Our room had a plumbing smell in the bathroom..not sure if others do.
