Our mountain view room was fabulous. The bathroom especially was lovely. The manager allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in so we could visit The Heights of Abraham. We travelled by train so couldn't leave in a car. Myself and my friend will definitely return!

There was only one member of staff there over our 2 day stay & she was really nice and helpful (she seemed to be covering reception, housekeeping & kitchen). Got to say all the public areas could do with a good hoover and the skylight in our room was covered in green algae. Our room was clean (apart from the skylights) but small. Breakfast was really poor for the price we paid. Hotel in general needs a good update as has loads of potential.

Disgusting value for money, avoid at all costs! What was meant to be a romantic trip for my fiances 50th ended up being a total let down. The hotel has issues spanning from the plumbing to general cleanliness and is going to take a considerable outlay if they ever expect the place to get any guests - far too many to mention here anyway. My main issues was with our room, as it was nearly £100 a night. Firstly the whole place is like a sauna...combine that with stale oil smell and it is very off-putting. Opening the window is fine, but we had a mountain view, so it was on the front next to the road and far too loud to sleep with wide open. The king bed had an indentation in it which made you feel like you was falling to one side - Very uncomfortable. The room next door was occupied with what I believe to be the owners family. Kids shouting at 7am with walls so thin, I could hear every single word they said when talking normally! Broken furniture, dirt and grime everywhere, portable heaters on the floor and extention cables and many many many other issues which I would expect in a Benidorm B&B, not here!

Nicely located Hotel within walking distance to go explore Matlock Bath and short drive to lots of local attractions. Quietly located with parking off main rd , friendly staff , great Indian restaurant worth a visit on its own , recommend

Don't know if the hotel was full but just enough parking for people there's. Rooms basic but clean, very noisy with bagging radiators/pipes and sounded like a generator somewhere

The hotel is clean and breakfast and staff very friendly rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, with kettle and drink facilities had a lovely stay and would stay again. We used the hotel as a stay over as it was close and in walking distance of Matlock. It was a 3 mile motorcycle ride to Matlock Bath .

Parking available outside property, attentive and cheerful staff, we had booked the family room which was really spacious and clean. Unfortunately we didn't get to eat here, the indian menu looked and smelt amazing! Great place to stay within walking distance to amenities. Definitely stay again.

The room was very good and facilites as described, the bath filled quicky and was very relaxing. Just a point to note the best room in the hotel has quite low beams so if your 6ft 1 and over ducking will be required but that would not put us off

Great hotel in a lovely spot, elevated above the road linking Matlock + Matlock bath. Comfortable and clean rooms with good space, and friendly, helpful staff. Evening food was really nice too. Definitely recommend 🌞

Rooms were an ok standard, but we were expecting more, as historically the hotel was known to be one of the better ones in the area. We were disappointed with the quality of finish in the bathroom (bath water was luke warm at it's hottest setting and the tap fixture leaked water through the top of the fawcet when opened. The sink made funny noises and the water pressure was erratic. The room wasn't spacious and we felt a little cramped, although it was just about ok for our needs.
