Very welcoming and attentive staff. Lovely rooms. Loved the free standing bath tub. The food was outstanding. Especially loved the scallops. Breakfast was delicious. Overall an outstanding stay.

Excellent stay

A lovely inn to stay in. Great breakfast, clean room, with all the conveniences paired in the room too. The homemade cookies were an added bonus.

What a fantastic place! The hotel was in a great location and very close to Dover and the Castle by cab. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and contained beautiful decorations. The staff were super nice and helpful. The restaurant was amazing, delicious food, very attentive service and great drinks! It felt like home! We will definitely be back.

Amazing stay. We got the suite bedroom which was spacious and very comfortable. The room and the pub are absolutely stunning. Breakfast was excellent. It is very highly recommended.

We only stayed for one night as catching a ferry early in the morning, we were leaving before breakfast so they kindly made us food to take with us. Overall the staff the Room and food were all excellent. Would 100% stay again.

Staff were very welcoming. Everything is well organised. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent. Room is well decorated and comfortable. Have had a wonderful relaxing stay

Amazing place!! We stayed here the night before getting the ferry but we would love to visit again just to stay. The reception and service was brilliant and the food absolutely delicious. An outstanding chef, and all staff went above and beyond. A special place for sure...we wish we had a local place like this to go to.

The welcome was great the room exceptional and an enclosed outside area perfect for our dog. The food and service were truly wonderful we can’t wait to visit again.

Great hotel and our 3rd time staying. Sadly in our initial room, the air con was broken on a very hot day. Fortunately we were moved into a room where it did work although not sure what would have happened if they were full!!!

No matter what negative things I report about our stays at M of G, we do genuinely like staying there and will return when necessary. It’s excellently placed for Channel Tunnel travellers (and possibly ferry users too, not sure) and is the best quality accommodation we have found in the area in the 30+ years we have traversed the route to Europe. OK, there are probably some more luxury properties around but we draw the line at about £250 per night unless on a “proper holiday” as opposed to an overnight stop. So, this is a place with comfortable beds, well appointed rooms and a decent restaurant & bar. Although it is a very popular local watering hole and can be busy, we have never been disturbed by noise from the restaurant & bar. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for our last room “Everden” which had the most inconsiderate, elephantine footed occupant upstairs who thumped around both during the night and before 6am when preparing to depart. The other problem with Everden is that it has large picture windows and patio doors so occupants are exposed to the adjacent beer garden patrons (possibly literally exposed!) However, this just means we will avoid that particular room in the future and there are another 7 left for us to explore. One of the main recommendations about this place is the staff; they are exceptional. Always attentive, very pleasant and helpful. It is very noticeable how much better they all are than the average harassed, monosyllabic, surly youths elsewhere

We stayed 3 nights, eating in each night. It is a really lovely establishment which has exceptional food and wonderful attentive staff. The full English breakfast is very good quality food cooked to a high standard, served by very friendly staff, perfect way to start your day! The evening meals carried on with quality food and cooking. Special mention here to Sam & Emily for exceptional service, smiles and making our anniversary special.

We could order breakfast the evening before so that in the morning we did not have to wait. So no problem to catch the ferry. Not often in UK but here good coffee was served.

Great room and staff

Highly recommended, the staff was amazing, the property was amazing, and the facilities and being pet friendly also amazing was booked as an overnight stay after a long journey from the Dominican Republic via Madrid, Paris, and then the Channel Tunnel before a very long drive north to Scotland. The room was so comfortable, the restaurant 1st class and the value for money that included a wonderful breakfast was perfect. 15 minutes from the Channel tunnel so perfect for those who are traveling either way before continuing their journey. Loved it. The staff were amazing..
