There weren't shops or much nearby. But i think the purpose of this lodge is that you get to see the countryside and visit the 3 peaks Yorkshire as it's the closet by 27 mins drive. Plus it got a bath tub which is needed after a long hike.

Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely.
Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful.
Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here.

We found the lodge very comfortable and enjoyed the breakfast.
However we were expecting an evening meal but we were not informed that it was necessary to book this in advance. As a consequence it was necessary to drive to the nearest village to eat which was disappointing.

Brilliant choice for a quiet stay. Nigel and Joan are very welcoming, and cook a brilliant breakfast. I've been told (by fellow guests) that the restaurant meals are great in the evening, so I'll just need to return to try them!

Lovely B&B in quite a remote area, taxis come no problem though if you want to get around without driving. Nigel and Joan were delightful, excellent breakfast choice and all very well cooked. We stayed in an annex room, size was excellent, bed very comfortable would recommend. Only slight niggle is during the day the room was unbelievably hot with just the skylight for ventilation. No problem at night/in the morning heat wise but imagine mid summer could be very warm but only a slight downside on an excellent place to stay.
