Nottingham Belfry Hotel & Spa

Lovely hotel, rooms were as advertised and clean. Most of staff were nice but when trying to check in they claimed we had not paid for the night when we had on booking

Unfortunately our one night stay was tainted by the pool not being available for most of it (no info on this was given at or after booking!) and the delayed check in (unable to check in until after 5) - no compensation was offered... The evening meal in the restaurant was tasty however and the room was reasonable value and clean/tidy etc. altho was missing it's robes and had a loose toilet seat. The fridge floor was dirty. It would have been an overall 3-4/5, but I don't think this hotel can be trusted to deliver on what they promise so I cannot recommend.

Night stay for a birthday with spa expectations. Greeting was excellent. Pool a little tired along with changing rooms. Evening was excellent. Rooms quiet, clean with nice decor, a little tired in areas. But overall a nice experience.

We booked a Suite. The hotel seemed fresh and fairly newly-built. When we arrived at the suite and opened the door. The smell of soggy doggy and dog wee hit our noses. There was a discoloured patch on the carpet (dog wee). We had just come from a disastrous stay at another hotel and were so tired, we dealt with the smell. The suite itself was very nice, well presented and the bed was very comfortable. I am not allergic to cats/dogs (having had both for years), but I woke up the next morning with red, itchy eyes and a streaming nose. If you do stay here without a dog, maybe ask for a room that is not dog-friendly to avoid these issues.

Check in was smooth. On entering the room, I was immediately concerned by the fact that the window was open and there was a stand up fan in the room. Sure enough, it soon became apparent that the aircon in the room was not working. I called reception, who said that there was nothing they could do. They couldn’t move us because the hotel was full and they couldn’t give a discount. They said that I could email management but they had up to 48 hours to reply. I then asked if there was a Duty Manager I could speak to. Tamara called me and said that she could not give me a discount either and there were no other rooms to move us to. She offered us a complimentary drink in the bar. We decided to unpack. We then found hairs on the pillows, hairs on the towels in the bathroom, cobwebs around the room and no bottle opener to open the complimentary drinks. We tried the tv. We couldn’t hear it over the sound of the fans. When we tried to turn the volume up on the tv, nothing happened. Whilst sitting in the chair, my wife noticed rubbish under the bed - used tissue, a discarded pizza box, other rubbish, thick dust and an earring. It wasn’t hard to spot. I called reception and asked Tamara to come up to the room to see the atrocious cleanliness. She took photos and retrieved the pizza box and the earring. The pizza box had old pizza in it!!! One issue after another. Extremely disappointed. We’ll wait to see if the FOH Manager contacts me back after emailing him.

The bed itself was fine, but the pillows and duvet were a complete disappointment. The duvet made a constant rustling noise with every movement, and the feather pillows offered no support—your head just sank right in. Food was really nice. Staff in the breakfast area was really friendly and smiling. Staff in the bar area didn’t know how to smile. Pool was good and steam and sauna was ok too.

Pleasant stay for 1 x night.... clean, tidy and has most things ypu want. Lighting in the rooms a lttle dark for my liking. Breakfast was good.... didn't have dinner in the restaurant as arrived late Perfect 1 x night stop over

It was a shame that I didn’t arrive until the early hours of the morning. I didn’t get to sample the facilities that were available as I had to leave in the morning. The staff were lovely and the standard of the hotel is excellent. The price I paid for the room and breakfast was also very reasonable

Nice enough hotel, convenient location from the M1. Close to a nice country park. Gym is pretty well equipped. Staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the guy in the gym. My only gripes are that the room smelled of smoke - probably people smoking on the balcony with the door open. The decor is a bit tired. I was charged £3 for a like and soda which felt a bit steep for a pint of squash.

Convenient for family in area. Very clean and lovely pool. Parking plentiful and free. Staff were very nice.

Nice hotel with big rooms

Good value for the facilities provided.

We’d didn’t use the restaurant as walked 5 mins to local pub. Shame and drinks expensive.
