I would definitely recommend this hotel. My wife and I stayed in an apartment, which had a large kitchen with all the amenities you would need. It had a hob, an oven, microwave and fridge, plus a toaster and even a caffatiere. The bedroom, living area and bathroom were a good size and really comfortablex the bar in the hotel had a great decking area with a great view over the river and down towards Teignmouth. We would definitely return,

Lovely big room for 3 over in the Lodges, warm and comfortable, but no wi-fi unfortunately. The breakfast was good and the view is lovely. Ideal for walking to Newton Abbot along the path.

Very poor 'welcome' from the receptionist. She seemed miserable and dis-interested. She also could not find our pre-booked details initially and then when she did, tried to charge us an additional £75 even though we had paid in full.
On the plus side, the room was very good. Very clean, comfortable bed and a good shower. Only two teabags on the tray, which was either an oversight or just a bit mean.

The hotel was fab, great location, lovely staff and awesome breakfast. The only slight inconvenience is that there are no plug points near the bed to charge your phone, which is unusual these days. Would totally stay in future and use the pool etc when it reopens. Thank you!

The room appeared clean but was a bit dusty and didn’t smell particularly fresh. I slept well but awoke with a sore back as the bed was very hard. Bedding was thin and cheap. I opted out of breakfast because when I booked the room, breakfast was a £27 option! No thanks!! The hotel is very well situated, only 5 mins drive from Newton Abbot and close to lovely walk along the river. I was very grateful for the on-site car charger.

Nice place, only an overnight stay. A slight walk from the main road if you're on foot, under 10 mins. No direct transport from Newton Abbot station but if you fancy a 30-minute walk it's not a bad route. On the tip end of River Teign and quite scenic with a nice outdoor garden. Guessing you can take dogs in as they have a dog wash on site :) Restaurant and bar has some good choices.

The main areas have been refurbished and are lovely apart from the TV blasting away all day. ( children’s tv during a quiet breakfast)
The bedrooms have not been re-done yet but are clean and ok.
The breakfast serving staff were too busy chatting to each other to help. We went in shortly after a coach trip and there was no fresh fruit salad left and no pain au chocolate. No salt and pepper on our table, a dirty mug and very abrupt service, however the food was good.
I think with someone in charge of the service this could become a very good hotel, front desk staff were helpful organising taxis for us.
We will stay here next time we visit and hope the breakfast service will be better.
Overall a good place to stay in a fabulous location, it could be fantastic.

Made little use of facilities as we were out most of the time. Room was rather small & needed artificial light. On arrival the room was unbearably hot & it took some time for the fan to have any effect. In fact we had to keep the fan all night. The coffee from the machine was undrinkable.

We had a large, comfortable room with a small balcony & a Estuary view .
The bathroom was small but clean.
There ws a shortage of complentory tea & coffee. We only had 2 teabags daily 4 milks..
As we were staying during the heatwave we could certainly have done with a small fridge, & definitely some complimentary water.
There was plenty of car parking on site.
We enjoyed the choice of breakfast.
Overall we had a very good two night stay.

Tired rooms..just grubbybreally and showing age. Main hotel under renovation. WiFi not working (blamed building works) restaurant which may be temporary resembles a staff canteen. Serves a purpose for business stop over and location by the river very nice
