I have over 30 years of travel experience across different countries and have never encountered a hotel as terrible as this one! The pillows at this hotel are extremely soft, and even though we were provided with four pillows for the two of us, they were so soft that we couldn't sleep well. The room was very cold, and despite setting the temperature higher, it still blew cold air. Eventually, we turned off the air conditioning, but it still felt very cold (the temperature that night was 7 degrees Celsius). Sleeping on the third floor, I couldn't sleep well, so I went downstairs to seek assistance from the staff. I requested additional or replacement pillows and blankets, but the staff member rudely told me that all the pillows were the same, and if we wanted extra pillows and blankets, it would cost £20. I felt very frustrated and disappointed at that moment! I have never encountered a hotel that charges for additional pillows and blankets! Then I asked the staff what could be done about the cold weather and if there was any heating. The staff rudely replied that adjusting the air conditioning temperature was the only option. Oh my God! Although this hotel is conveniently located near the city center, has free parking, and the rooms are large, the rude staff and the extra charges for pillows and blankets are extremely disappointing and infuriating! I would rather pay more to stay somewhere else and never return to this hotel again!

convenient for St James Park

We love staying at Rooms Inn. Great value for money. Wallpaper loose in places so could do with a bit of TLC, but for what we paid it was great

Very comfortable room. Clean and tidy. Very friendly reception.

Stayed here to watch the football. Easy parking and convenient walkable location to St James’s Park. Had ironing board, hair dryer already in room if needed.

Staff very friendly

Hotel was ok , car park is safe, a breakfast bag to collect from reception was ok. Toilet and shower cubicle could do with updating or repair. Overall it was ok. Close to city centre.

We had a car so convenient to park, easy 10 min walk to Grey street which is hub of Newcastle. Breakfast pack very good for morning starter.

Gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Das Zentrum kann von dort aus gut zu Fuß erreicht werden. Check-In auch spät am Abend möglich, falls man sich mal verspätet. Vielleicht für manche ein Minus: Es gibt kein reguläres Frühstück, nur eine Tüte mit abgepackten Snacks.

Can't complain for price

This was my second stay at the Rooms Inn. I re-booked after my first visit was a really good experience. The room and price of £43 for a double was great. We entered our room on the second visit and initially it looked fine although not as nice as the first one. It looked a bit dated but the bed and the room looked clean. Another story when using the bathroom. The bath, sink and toilet looked clean but then I started noticing all the hairs. A curly on the sink, top of bath and the floor had a lot of ling hair. Obviously, it had not been hoovered or mopped. A couple would not have bothered me. I went to reception and told the receptionist. All the cleaners had gone home but hesaid he would see whathe could do when we went out. Came back, still there. I got soetoilet paper to clean it up myself and found behind the toilet was dirty.

Es war Okay. Wir kamen um ca 12 Uhr bei der Unterkunft an und fragen freundlich, ob unser Zimmer zufällig schon fertig sei. Die Antwort „Check in is from 2pm!“ kam eher unfreundlich rüber. Unsere Koffer konnten wir bereits in dort lassen, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Jedoch wurden diese in der barrierefreien Toilette gelagert, was nicht unbedingt optimal ist. Später beim Check-In wurden wir von einem anderen sehr freundlichen Mitarbeiter in Empfang genommen! Das Zimmer war insgesamt recht ordentlich, jedoch nicht zu 100% sauber. Das inbegriffene „grab and go“-Frühstück ist ausreichend. Insgesamt riecht es in der Unterkunft „feucht“ (wie z.B. in Kellern alter Häuser) was ein eher ungutes Gefühl bei uns ausgelöst hat. Die Flure sind sehr eng und ebenfalls nicht richtig sauber.

Inconsiderate idiots in room next door, had to phone reception at 00.45 to disburse group gathering making major noise. Basic room but considering price did the job.

Clean and tidy and quiet and convenient

The stay itself was good, staff were amazing, the only thing I’d say is there was some minor work needed, bottom of the bath, felt it was gonna come away from the wall as I got out, plaster towards bottom of door was coming off, the room needs fully dusted, loved the breakfast bag.

Great location. Everything looks a bit tired but that is reflected in the price. Good location for exploring Newcastle and 15 mins from the railway station so also ideal. Would recommend if on a budget. Love the breakfast bag.
