Hotel is in an incredible location right opposite Sefton Park with a clear view of the lake. Rooms are very clean with tasteful decor, Meghan and her team are absolutely fabulous, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is AMAZING new.menu launched yesterday and everything is fabulous X Honestly you will not be disappointed, enjoy!

The room was spotless. With lovely crisp bed linen. The best thing was the staff, everyone was so friendly,warm and helpful. I really enjoyed the whole experience. It will definitely be my first choice next time l’m in Liverpool

This place is exceptional. It has a rich history, having been home to one of the first members of The Beatles and a great friend of John Lennon (Stuart Sutcliff). The place has decorations and memorabilia from the band's beginnings, making it a great place. We had a hotel room on the top floor with vaulted ceilings, which made our stay quite cozy. Next door is Sefton Park, a beautiful place to walk. The hotel is also very close to Lark Lane, a street full of very good restaurants and bars, with very decent prices, exceptional food, and a very youthful vibe. In addition to the hotel's location, we had the opportunity early on the second day to walk to Penny Lane, passing through a very beautiful wooded area. The walk is highly recommended. The breakfast is five-star, with a variety of a la carte options. We ordered the full English both days we were there... the treatment of the desk staff and breakfast was excellent with that warmth that the people of Liverpool have... it is definitely a charming place to which we plan to return. Thank you for making our stay warm and pleasant.

Breakfast poor for the money. Eggs Benedict was a sandwich.
Eggs cheap quality with light yokes. Coffee stale as standing too long so not drinkable. It was bitter.
No bathmat
Need hook behind the door as lack of hanging space.

The man at check-in was so downbeat and abrupt. He told me that I had two keys as the toilet and all washing facilities were remote. This was not noted anywhere during booking. This room was over £100 I should note.
I then went to the room and it was absolutely tiny. A hard double bed with a tiny single wobbly wardrobe and small table. The only light was a 600mm x 900mm skylight window with a poor blind. Had to be open to make the room a bareable temperature but the light and noise as a result made sleep very difficult.
The bathroom down the corridor that was not signed as being a bathroom so I had to go back down the three floors to reception to confirm the bathroom location. It had a really poor power shower, toilet and small sink. The washroom was shared with at least 5 rooms.
I will never be going back. Horrible night in a claustrophobic room. Travelodge etc are a major step up in quality and service for comparable price.

We stayed for 2 nights for a family funeral. The staff were very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The breakfasts were lovely. The only negatives, was they did not offer dinner, so we had to walk to find restaurants and that the room and en suite, needed a bit of TLC.

Staff were great, shared facilities all good, nice small bar area.
Location on sefton park was great too. Lovely spot for a morning jog.
Our room was a late booking and probably the last available. It was a bit small but perfectly clean and tidy, fine for one night.

Lovely staff. Paper-thin walls meant every time another guest went to their rooms at any time of day or night meant we were woken by conversation, doors, televisions or worst of all two mornings in a row by an adjoining guest vomiting in their bathroom at 7am.

Hotel is lovely and beautiful location. However, several people arrived on the same day as me, to find that the hotel was overbooked due to a wedding and an alternative hotel was offered in the city centre (no use to me as I was visiting family locally). So far Expedia is very unhelpful at issuing my refund - I booked and paid 8 months ago!!!
