Hotel Ideon

The hotel is close to the town and overlooks the harbour. Parking is a problem you have to pay by the hour in the harbour car park. The rooms are very good and the breakfast is good. The staff are very good

Très beau séjour à l’hôtel Ideon : parfaitement situé dans la vieille ville , petit déjeuner quali et varié , piscine et surtout chambre spacieuse et confortable avec balcon. Je recommande !

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est idéal pour découvrir la ville a pied mais pas hyper facile d'accès et a 20 minutes de la plage. Si vous restez moins d'une semaine je conseil la demi pension car le dîner le soir et généreux et bon mais au bout d'une semaine vous aurez l'impression de tourner en rond, le personnel est très agréable comme globalement l'ensemble du personnel. La piscine est petite comme beaucoup a l'intérieur de la ville mais surtout elle n'est profonde que de 1,45m. Enfin le ménage est fait trop rapidement a notre goût des poussières sont restées au même endroit pendant plusieurs jours.

It's a very nice hotel

Love the location and will absolutely come back. The restaurant (dinner) is excellent, very nice food and the view is stunning. The staff at the hotel is attentative and very nice. Breakfast is great. Comfortable bed. The only down side would be the pool, not very clean water. Probably to much people. Its better than not having a pool and the size is decent.

The best stay in Crete that we have had so far and we have been coming to Rethymnon for several years. The staff, food, hotel and wonderful service made us feel so welcome. Thanks again Hotel Ideon we hope to return soon

Excellent all round apart from the bedroom floor and balcony. This needed to be dusted more regularly. If we ventured that way again we would stay there again as it was close to the Old Town and restaurants.

Formidable! Extrêmement bien situé, personnel aux petits soins et chambres confortables: un sans-faute! Nous reviendrons!

Bra boende mitt i gamla stan, snyggt och fräscht. Enda nackdelen var frukosten som var ganska tråkig.

Lovely hotel. Modern rooms. Pool area sheltered from wind. Good breakfast. Excellent location opposite the port in the old town. Great value for money.

+ Great location, very central to old town so easy to walk around the town, friendly and helpful staff, fabulous breakfast, clean facilities, some rooms updated, great pool with a decent amount of sunbeds, reasonably priced drinks and food at the pool and 30% discount on drinks during happy hour (5-6pm) woo hoo - our room (1 bed apartment) backed onto noisy alley (arguing drunks and motorbikes at night, workmen renovating building behind during day so sleep deprived most of stay) 1 bed units are older and non renovated so bathrooms are a negative. Apartments are advertised as pool view but all face the wall of the main building. Lower floor rooms are dark and a little dingy, they share a terrace with 3 other rooms which feels claustrophobic, also smokey sitting out as everyone and their dog smokes! The only one of the apartments with a view of the pool is room 608. This is a lovely apartment with pool facing windows on the side (the room you see on their website) book this one if you can or stick to a renovated room in the main building. Parking is a pain, free parking is up the hill and difficult to find, be patient and you will eventually get a spot just be prepared to wait, paid parking is opposite hotel (around 15 euro a day) Overall a great stay, we were there for a week and found it relaxing. We really enjoyed the pool area and Panos who serves drinks in this area is a great guy, funny, friendly and very helpful. We would stay again but in a sea view room next time

L’hôtel est très bien placé pas loin des Héraklion au bord de l’eau, très jolie piscine, la chambre est de bonne taille et il y a une énorme terrasse, ce qui est bien agréable pour étendre les affaires et s’asseoir pour prendre un petit verre ce que je n’ai pas aimé, c’est peut-être la salle de bain Qui est vraiment à l’ancienne ainsi que globalement l’hôtel qui aurait besoin d’en rafraîchissement un peu plus moderne, même si on voit que c’est un hôtel ancien, mais il a été très correctement entretenu, le petit déjeuner est copieux et variés. C’est un buffet. On peut regretter qu’il n’y ait pas de transat avec des parasols sur la plage.

The hotel is placed in a good position, rooms are clean and newly refurbished. Breakfast very good. Highly recommend.

Great hotel at the end of a multi stay trip. The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff friendly and attentive. We found it good value, and the breakfast was excellent. We had a 4 night stay there and it was perfect for exploring the wider area but also being able to easily wander round the Old Town. Parking is conveniently nearby and free if you don’t mind being on the street

Very nice hotel. Breakfast could be improved, no choice of beverages, no natural orange juice, and poor choice of food and very few natural food items.

This is a great, modern hotel with an oceanfront view. More like a 5 star hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast and located in the old town. Close to restaurants and shops and beach. Best place to stay in Rethymno in my opinion.

Staying at Ideon turned out the Worst Experience I ever had! I went to the restaurant early in the 1st. morning ( before rush hour). I saw a table by the pool. I put my bag on the table, went to collect my breakfast from the buffet. When I came back, one couple was sitting at my table. My bag (with two telephones, other personal belongings inside) was not there! Me and couple stared our each other face. They told me “that man” put them to my table. I saw my bag on the next table. I was just taking my bag, “that man” came. I cld not even ask him anything. But he told me “I could not sit any where I want!!” His attitude was also very, very rude. I just said/ could say “ Ohh I did not know”. He replied me back “ Now that you know”.!!! I was shocked and very, very sad. After breakfast inside I went to reception to tell them what happened. The lady kindly listened to me, called for the reception manager. Mng. listened to me. Then came the 2nd shock!! Mng said, “ may be it was rush hour and that man in the restaurant was stressed, and this might be why he treated me badly!!! And added “ not let this to ruin your day”! Something Not acceptable at All! It was not rush hour, even it was, his behaviour is not acceptable, not manager’s approach as well. 1st time was in Rethmo. I was happy, excited. I ended up deeply sorry. I don’t think they can behave/ talk like that to men or couples. No type of violence is acceptable and can be credited.

Amazing hotel. Extremely clean, modern, comfy beds, great pool, HUGE breakfast! Would give it more stars if I could!

Das Hotel ist modern, sauber und neu renoviert . Das gesamte Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir fanden die Lage hervorragend, 1 Minute Fußweg und man ist direkt in der Altstadt mit vielen kleinen Geschäften Cafés und Restaurants. Die Frühstücksauswahl ist gut, Kaffeespezialitäten wie Cappuccino oder Latte Macchiato sind allerdings kostenpflichtig. Getestet haben wir außerdem das Menü Angebot aus der Lobbybar, die Speisen waren lecker und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis angemessen. Duschgel, Shampoo, sowie einen Föhn gibt es auf dem Zimmer, weitere Kosmetikartikel wie Wattestäbchen oder Wattepads nicht. Die kleine Poolanlage im Innenhof war gepflegt, wir konnten sie allerdings Ende Oktober nicht nutzen, der Pool ist nicht beheizt und das war uns dann doch etwas zu frisch. Parkplätze findet man kostenpflichtig schräg gegenüber auf einem Großparkplatz oder kostenfrei (mit ein bisschen Geduld) entlang der Straße.
