Likinia Hotel

Excelente ubicación dentro de la ciudad amurallada, con vistas magníficas y una atención excepcional. Dejamos el carro apenas cruzamos el puente, a mano izquierda, bien seguro. Una caminata de 12 minutos hasta las puertas del castillo. El staff del hotel nos ayudó contactando a una persona para ayudarnos con las maletas por un módico fee, recomendado. Un desayuno con sabor hogareño, y bien surtido. Bastantes opciones para cenar dentro de la ciudad amurallada, y con unas vistas excepcionales. Caminar hasta la ciudad alta es imprescindible. Y bañarse en el mar Egeo, luego de una caminata de 8 minutos desde la puerta a la ciudad, fue necesaria. Nos hospedamos 3 días, y es la estadía/caminata que más recordamos por la atención brindada por Alexandros y todo el staff de Likinia hotel. Fue la mejor estadía en nuestro viaje a Grecia.

We really loved staying at Likinia and highly recommend it. Our room was spotless, and the staff was very helpful. It was pretty cool to stay in a castle-like setting. There was one minor maintenance issue (toilet had a minor constant trickle, but it worked fine). Power cycled several times during the night; might have been the city instead of the hotel. While the hotel is at the far end of town, the town is only 4 minutes from one end to the other so it’s not a problem. That said, if you plan to bring lots of luggage, the stairs and cobble stones could pose a problem. (We used a backpack and left our luggage in the car at the end of the causeway. AirTags gave us confidence.)

The experience of staying within walls is something else. Monemvasia has managed to capture and maintain the feel of an ancient fortification while giving one the comforts of modern civilization (indoor plumbing!) The Likinia Hotel is well located, about a 5 minute walk away from the main street and sufficiently separated. At times you even have the feeling that you have the whole fortress to yourself. Since the family room was the last available option, we had an entire apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to ourselves. The rooms were very clean and spacious, especially for just two individuals. We recommend booking well in advance or checking with the hotel directly so that you can get an appropriately sized room and allow more people to experience the place :) The staff were kind and even helped with our bag up the final winding route to the room. The breakfast was a smaller spread but comprised of very high quality food in our opinion. The complimentary bottle of wine for the stay (a regional variety) was also a nice touch. The view from the room was also quite nice and we could look out onto the sea over the tops of other buildings. It was a really nice experience. We would recommend the hotel for it's location and will consider going back if we visit Monemvasia again.

Nice hotel with great service

This is a one of a kind stay! If you are visiting monemvasia, you should be sure to stay on the island inside the fortress. We loved our time here! Great hiking up to the church on top of the hill, beautiful views, such a unique little community. We loved our stay!

Et rigtig dejligt sted. Vi havde værelse m/terrasse og havudsigt og nød opholdet i fulde drag i et par dage. Der var helt stille, og alligevel var der kun et par minutters gang fra alle caféer og restauranter. Monemvasia er helt unik og virkelig værd at besøge.

Super location on the island! The room was very nice and a bottle of wine was left for us. The host was fabulous. He went out of his way to help us with the wi-fi, directions, and other items. Definitely recommend this lodging.

Location, Location, Location! It is a step backwards in time, but with current day amenities. Breakfast was great, Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. Views were incredible. Exploring the lower town maze was fun! Restaurants were plentiful. Biggest regret, we did mot plan enough time to explore the upper level of town. One of the highlights of our trip!

Love the location and main bedroom. Breakfast was great. Staff was excellent. Due to the restrictions the government places on restoring ancient structures the bathroom was tiny, and you couldn’t stand to take a shower. Negative that isn’t their fault due to restoring restrictions. Other than that, very nice place to stay at.
