I had an accident why on holiday - the hotel staff were excellent helping me recover The rest of the hotel and facilities were also excellent

Makis has a fab location right across from a shingle beach and very close to the village of Skala. It’s beautifully decorated and the room we had was spacious and very clean. The bed was huge and super comfortable. Sheets and towels were changed regularly and the room cleaned daily. We loved the vibe at the beach bar and their great Hugo Spritz’s. Staff were really friendly and keen to help. We had a great stay all round.

The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Excellent breakfast with a varied choice every day. Beach service was extremely good.

We did enjoy our stay at this hotel during the month of June. It was relatively quiet. The hotel is well maintained and rooms are exceptionally clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The lady that cleaned our room daily was thoughtful and did an excellent job at maintaining the hotels high standards of cleaning. The air con and the WiFi were excellent. The hotel is well situated close to the beach and restaurants. There are some lovely places to eat and our favourite was the Old Village. All restaurants are a short walk and most are up a steep hill if you walking difficulties. It’s also worth mentioning if you do have difficulties walking ask for a ground floor room as there are no lifts to the upper floors. We did find breakfast underwhelming and much of it very basic and the quality was average to say the least. We went out and bought our own cereal. The coffee was awful. On a plus side melon , apple and oranges were available along with Greek yogurt ( we’ve had much better Greek yogurt ) . Staff in the restaurant were lovely and always friendly. Tea and coffee are only in your room for your first day. We went out and bought our own along with milk. We felt very safe at this hotel and in Kefelonia itself. We would stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Stayed for 7 nights. Hotel was very clean throughout, staff very friendly. Small hotel so not over crowded in pool area, which was great. Hotel is a 2 minute walk to main bars/restaurants but very quiet at night. Beach is directly opposite hotel. Plenty of parking if hiring a car. Would definitely stay again.

Very comfortable Hotel excellent location

We had to pay £60 euro extra for a room with a double bed. Feels like this is a way to get extra money out of you. We were only there for two nights as part of a touring holiday.

Ottima posizione con vista mare e accesso diretto alla spiaggia attrezzata. Struttura recente nel complesso ordinata e pulita. Buona colazione. Piscina non tanto grande collocata in un bel contesto con sdraio, lettini ed ombrelloni ed ottimo servizio bar. A pochi passi da ristoranti bar e negozi di vario genere. Ampio parcheggio a disposizione dei clienti. Carina la stanza con terrazzo loggiato con comode poltroncine.

The property is very well maintained and the superior sea view room was spacious (shower is very small) The location is excellent and just a short walk to many restaurant options The staff is less than helpful though - from our first day when I ordered a beer at the bar and was told to go get it myself from the cooler, to never being asked for our order four straight days around the pool deck (they were serving others) They charge a deposit for pool towels and charge extra for chairs at the beach Our stay was at the end of September and they also were “out of” many items at the pool bar - and it was obvious they didn’t care - the bartender even said “they are trying to save money since it was the end of the season” If they upgraded their service it could easily be a 5 star stay

A really great place to stay, from location to staff and service

Really impressed with Makis Hotel. Impeccably clean with lovely decor and small team that looked after guests incredibly well.

The hotel was conveniently located across the street from the beach and a short walk to the centre of town full of restaurants and shopping.

I was very impressed by this lovely hotel, and its pleasant and helpful staff. Although the price is at the top end of what I would ever spend, the high price is accompanied by high standards. It was very nice to be able to sit in comfort, protected by some sun umbrella shade on the beach; and a lazy luxury to order and to be brought drinks and food from the hotel to one's sun lounger, by the hotel staff. Some commenters have remarked that they think that the 1 day rental fee of 15 Euros at the beach, for a sun umbrella and 2 very comfortable sun loungers should be waived for hotel guests, by the hotel management. Speaking personally, I am very happy to pay, to lessen potential overcrowding, and to remove the awful practice of people bagging free sun loungers at 6am with their towels (often then not actually sitting on the sun loungers for most of the day!). In any event, free sun loungers, sun umbrellas, and comfortable shady areas are available adjacent to the hotel's swimming pool, which is just the other side of the (unbusy) road, and the sandy beach.

Bathroom way too small, could hardly move in the shower. Pool very dated. Breakfast room infested with wasps. People reserving sunbeds

Excellent hotel in an ideal location.

Highly recommend this hotel. Right across from the beach, pool is lovely, staff could not be more friendly and helpful, clean, modern, water in room on arrival. Super close to restaurants, bars and shops. I would definitely return.

Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Only downside is that hotel guests don’t get free use, or discount on beach sunbeds. Would come back to the hotel again.

We had a lovely time at Makis Hotwl and would definitely recommend. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The facilities are nicely laid out and well maintained. We attended with a group and it worked so.well for all of us - late nights swims, great breakfast, rooms were nice, nice pool and pool bar. The whole package. Only reason we didn’t get be 5 stars across the board was that is is not a five star hotel - but an excellent choice regardless.
