Sterling Yercaud

Stayed at Sterling Yercaud expecting a proper 4-star staycation experience, but honestly this property is massively overpriced for what it offers. The only thing this hotel truly has going for it is the view, since it’s located at the top near Ladies Seat. If your priority is just scenery, fine — otherwise don’t expect 4-star standards. The room maintenance was disappointing. The door safety lock chain was broken, the washroom clothes hanger was damaged, and even the towels looked old and overused. Small things, but together they completely ruin the premium experience they advertise. Food was another major letdown. Breakfast was chaotic with poor crowd management despite seeing huge family occupancy. Staff clearly struggled handling the rush. Menu options were limited, taste was average, and definitely not worth the amount charged. In fact, lunch outside at Orange Restaurant and Attitude Restaurant was far better than eating at the resort. I’ve stayed in many 4-star hotels and resorts, but this was nowhere close to that standard. Feels more like you are paying luxury prices only for the location and view while everything else is just average.

The place is very run down. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Parking is far away and no valet.

Overall good stay with 3 familys with childrens . break fact so good lot of varieties . Receptionist Deepa very friendly and kind staffs are good. food cost is so high so we gone for out side.. The view of sterling you never get any were its so beautiful .

The strength of this property is it’s gorgeous background. The hotel overllooks a beautiful valley- a sight to behold. Staff, service, food and cleanliness need improvement. It is not senior-friendly. Neither is it good for guests with a disability.

Didnt get a room with a view to the valley. Booking via Hotels.com for a Sterling Holiday Resort room perhaps was a not great idea because of this. Staff are pleasant but said they didn't have rooms which we desired.

Stay was comfortable. Location is very nice. We also enjoyed food.

We had heard a lot of things about this place..but overall it's disappointing ...besides the view there is nothing much.,, The staff is less and food quality Is ordinary... Only a few people are hardworking and noticeable all from Manipur...

Excellent place and great service...the only minus point is that this place is not children friendly as there are no safety measures , either inside the suite or in the entire resort...this seriously needs to be looked into...

Room didn't have any view which was pathetic. Food doesn't suit south Indian palate.

I am not sure if hotels.com screwed up our booking or sterling but the initial check in was a pain after having driven 600kms to hear that we didn't have a room there when we had a confirmed booking. We waited for 45 Mts trying to reach hotels.com and getting then to talk to sterling. The manager was helpful but operations can be wayyyyyyy better. And again, while checking out there was a charge for 300 rs added on our bill which we were about to ignore and pay. When I cazually asked them as to what that was they were like oops... That was supposed to be added to the neighbouring room!!!! And again we are sorry blah blah. Sterling as a property is good esp the suites where we stayed , amazing views , we didn't eat the food there as it was too crowded. But their operations suck !

Overall a satisfying exerience. Pros: 1. Excellant Location & View 2. Nice helpful staff 3. Nice Activity area for kids & adults. 4. Room booked had good arrangment. Cons: 1. Food Vareity in buffet can be improved. 2. Ala-carte options are bit costlier.

Despite booking the rooms through Expedia, we were not allotted rooms and were forced to search for different accommodation. There is an inefficient idiot sitting at central reservation office who screwed up the entire process and had a terrible experience with both Expedia and Sterling. I will never venture booking with Expedia again.

We stayed in Sterling Resorts for 4 days from 1st Feb. Hotel location is very good. Rooms were clean , staff very polite, on the whole we enjoyed our stay there

the overall experience was good. the architecture of the hotel is excellent. It is value for money.
