I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hoshino Kai Hotel, and it was truly a top-notch experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff's warm and friendly service made me feel at home. They were attentive to every detail, ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as possible. The room was cozy yet spacious, offering the perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. Every aspect of the design exudes relaxation, from the soft lighting to the plush bedding. It felt like a private sanctuary where I could unwind completely. One of the standout features was the private onsen. Having access to such a peaceful and serene space elevated the experience. The mineral-rich waters and beautiful surroundings made it feel like I had a personal spa at my fingertips. The meals at Hoshino Kai were unbeatable. Each dish was crafted with the freshest ingredients, and the presentation was nothing short of art. From the breakfast to the multi-course dinner, every bite was an explosion of flavor that highlighted the best of Japanese cuisine. In summary, Hoshino Kai Hotel is the perfect destination for anyone seeking a luxurious, serene, and authentic Japanese retreat. I can’t wait to return!

The hotel is nice with high quality staffs , however some of the facilities look a bit worn out .

A perfect choice for an extraordinary holiday

A nice traditional Japanese ryokan but the condition of the room and quality of dinner were not up to the standard of similarly priced properties that we have stayed in.

Superbe lieu au milieu de la nature. Maison avec bain chaud sur la terrasse. Restaurant et service succulents. Resort de haut de gamme.

We are a party that booked 3 rooms at Kai Aso for 2 nights. Whilst the English speaking reception staff were always helpful, unfortunately one room, No 11, was totally inadequate & substandard. Room floor heating was not working both nights. Whilst the room temp showed 30C, it felt like 20 max 23C. It was very cold both nights, outside temp dropped to 0C both nights. For the first night the staff provided a heater and the second night another one was added. Third day morning, the heating for water supply did not work and staff thankfully managed to restore heating to the water supply. Second room 13, wash basins in the bathroom were clogged with very poor water drainage. Whilst the floor heating worked in 2nd room, the bathroom was also cold and not 30C as indicated, more likely 23C which is not comfortable. I lodged a strong complaint but all the manager in charge, Mr. Sayumi Ueda offered nothing except perfunctory words of apology and contrition. Hoshine group markets itself, many of their hotels/ryokans as 5 star properties, which I think includes Kai Aso, as we paid an expensive rate to stay. This was our third stay in the property and whilst the 1st two were good, the recent stay left a very unpleasant experience. High end international hotel chain will normally compensate in monetary form or credit for a future stay provided. Udea said NONE can be offered, so tarnishing Hoshino's reputation. Is their management aware of their managerial response? Be warned!

숲속에 홀로 있는 듯한 느낌.. 온천과 요가로 보내는 저녁시간이 너무나 평화롭습니다.

The Staff was incredibly attentive, patient and accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean, and the patio hot bath was excellent. The beds and pillows were super comfortable- the perfect balance of soft yet just firm enough.

Lovely stay ..Bed room can be slightly warmer on cool nights

Privacy, beautiful view, excellent staff service, good food

Very nice place and good mood for dining.

We love the environment and that private onsen, we also like the lay out but don't like those furniture
