I had a fantastic stay at Baobab Beach Resort & Spa. The location on Diani Beach is stunning, with white sand and clear water. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the all-inclusive food and drinks were excellent. The pools were clean, the rooms comfortable, and the whole atmosphere was relaxing. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a great beach holiday in Kenya.

Please do not waste your time at this property. The manager Patrick is nasty and doesn't care about travelers only about money. Charles is another manager that doesn't care about guests. I flew into the wrong airport and learned that this resort was 8 hours away. I spoke to the manager several times prior to this trip and he never mentioned this. I explained my situation to him, he said he would try to help me and ny husband on a partial refund but lied. After several attempts Patrick and Charles refused to help us by refunding some of our money. We had no where to go and we were stuck in another country with a room. The property refused to refund some of our money. The property does seem beautiful, but things to happen. The Management team showed no empathy or compassion. They don't care about guests there, they are all about the money. They are liars and will charge an additional fee for everything. Please pick another resort that really cares about the guests well being. Please pass on this resort, you will thank me later.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The food was good but a bit repetitive. Most of the staff was very kind. The property was beautifully maintained and the same goes with the pools. The evening entertainment was fantastic 👌! The monkeys will steal everything that they want though if you aren't very careful.

I wanted to enjoy the resort however I was utterly disappointed with the service at the hotel from the check in. When we arrived the check in was chaotic. We were told to sit down off to the side not near the main lobby and wait. After about 45+ minutes of waiting and other travelers that were off European and Asian descent were being served that had arrived after us we were shocked we are African American. We went to the main counter and it was utter chaos. Phones rings, no welcome drink or welcome fresh towel was passed to us but again was passed to other guests that were other descent minus us. We waited an additional 10 minutes and was handed the key. We were not given an overview of the hotel, times for dinner or anything. Upon being taken to the room it was the wrong room we requested twin beds and was given a double. We were asked if they could put another bed in the room that already had a double. We walked back down to reception. We informed them no as that’s not what we requested. We went back to the lobby and waited another 10 minutes and was told the room would be ready in 3 hours. Very odd as it’s a massive resort and they were not at capacity. So in the meantime we asked about getting lunch as we had traveled and not eaten all day. We were told that lunch is served at specific times and go to the snack bar. I will give them that they did make an effort to accommodate and prepare something. The room was ready three hours later. Beautiful all inclusive resort on Diani Beach, about an hour drive from Mombasa International Airport. I had the sea facing Deluxe Room which was absolutely beautiful and spacious. A shuttle is available for a fee to pick you up or drop off at airport. Days have low tide so you can walk on the beach. Resort has Pullman Tours office that can book off base excursions as well as book a snorkeling trip to the sand bar during low tide. I recommend the Mombasa city tour as they take you to the Akamba Market that has 2500 wood carving artists that sell their crafts at excellent prices and most of the money goes directly to the artist. Meals include buffets with food and desserts from around the world. Egg stations available in the morning for scrambles/omelettes and pasta stations at lunch/dinner as well as many other foods. Gym available for a daily fee. Recommend getting a massage at the Spa! Rooms are seaside so you hear ocean roar while receiving an amazing massage. Resort offers several pools- one of which is an adults only. Overall amazing stay. Would stay again- highly recommend!

Family friendly

They have a silly policy about pool towels and a token they provide without briefing you about it. Then try and bill you extra upon check-out. This ruined my otherwise okay experience. Would not recommend as there are better options along the same road.

This was our third visit to The Baobab, and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there. The only drawback for us is that the dining choices were very heavy on Indian and local cuisine with not many other options. Still, we were always able to find something we liked and would definitely plan to visit again.

It wasn’t all inclusive as the post when I checked out the wanted me to pay to keep using the facilities which never happened to me before on a all inclusive hotel before

The resort is beautiful and the setting is fantastic. The beach is beautiful as are the various pool areas. The room was good, clean and comfortable. The food was just ok, what you would expect at a buffet. The service was ok overall. Great in the restaurants and other staff but the front desk service was lacking, they weren’t very friendly or helpful, giving out some conflicting information. Overall though I recommend the resort, it was a very nice relaxing stay.

Overall good hotel, but the all-inclusive package is not full. You can not choose some drinks as they are only provided as "premium drinks". Ice-cream is not included and cost extra. Staff is very eager to promote the á-la carte restaurants where you need to pay extra. One very bad thing is that the hotel allows beachboys to sell stuff and tours at the hotel premises, so you are not left alone. That really lowers the review. The price is high in the area and therefore I would expect a higher standard.

SCAM: BEWARE. The hotel scammed me on payment for accommodation BEWARE! I booked through hotels.com and had an agreement in USD to pay on arrival at hotel. They originally charged in USD but to wrong card. When they put on the new card they charged in KEN shillings. This was a fe more GBP than if they USD but I thought ok as they said it covered the full amount for the accommodation plus $18 for shuttle transfer (same as usd payment made against initial card). On check-out 11 days later I saw they had charged extra for accommodation and asked why? Went back after an hour and said the manager wasn’t available yet. When we had to leave they just told me the manager confirmed it was correct and I had to pay and manager not available again! Spoke to manager via chat after I left and he said they made a mistake on initial payment and used wrong exchange rate - i explained they actually used the wrong exchange rate but have not heard back and has been over a week now. Clearly a SCAM or they would have resolved quickly. Overall this has cost me approx £50 extra through their “mistake”

It is a heaven!

Excellent hotel and the staff have top quality customer service . Lovely pools, amazing beach views, unlimited drinks and wildlife ! This is literally a place you would see on the TV and say I would love to go there. There are some huge renovations going on at the hotel and it did not mention this on the booking which normally I would leave a negative feedback for but due to the vast size of the place it will not affect your stay in anyway apart from the late night restaurant which is usuallly opened till 12 being closed. Also check out the watersports at baobao at the Freetyme water-sports counter, those guys were fantastic and I highly recommend this resort to anyone.
