Hôtel Eden au Lac

The spa and recreation fscilities are actually quite nice. Where the hotel falls flat are the outdated rooms and subpar dining experience. This hotel is sorely in need of room upgrades - it's obvious the bathrooms, carpeting and beds have not been replaced in probably 40 years. The mattresses are VERY firm and the exhaust fan in our bathroom did not work making for a very stuffy, humid and hot room with limited airflow. We also decided to have dinner at the hotel our first night as we arrived in the evening but the only option they serve is their "menu of the day" which is a preset 3 course meal with no other options available. The dinner was not very good either with weird combinations of flavors like smoked salmon with guacamole and mango puree served on a stale loaf of bread. Very bizarre dining experience and we did not eat any other meals there during our 3 night stay. The WiFi also did not work at all in our room for our entire stay. My husband had to take an important work call over Zoom on our second night but was unable to connect to the internet so he had to take the call in the middle of the hotel lobby where other guests were talking and music was playing. The positive notes were that staff were very nice and helpful, and the location of the hotel is convenient along with the nice spa and gym on site. We did relax in the saunas after a long day of hiking which was a highlight for us.

Rail ipv een kleerkast - geen enkele schuif in slaapkamer - in badkamer alleen zeep, geen shampoo - tafeltjes in slaapkamer zijn niet meer dan een paar bpbewerkte planken - ontbijt zeer basic - kortom een hotel,met 3 sterren, zeker niet de 5 sterren waar ze zich mee promoten

Ontbijt was erg prijzig voor wat je kreeg. Kamers waren netjes maar verouderd.

Fantastic spa and sauna amenities. Breakfast was expensive and the food had zero taste. You can only eat dinner here if you book it in advance - so overall would not recommend eating here. Rooms are large and comfy with decks, good views from every room.

Was probably a nice hotel once but now it is very old and need a great "make over". The staff was extremely rude and had an attitude. We found rotten fruit in the refrigerator. And the faucet was so limed that you got wet when you turned it on.

Omgeving erg mooi, interieur hotel echter niet van deze tijd en aan vervanging toe. Stang badkamer kwam van de muur, toiletrolhouder ook etc. Lift kapot.

Prachtig charmant hotel gelegen op een heuvel, je hebt er een heel mooi uitzicht en het centrum van echternach is op wandelafstand (20-25 min). Onze kamer was ruim en netjes, het is wat verouderd maar nog zeker in orde en dat gaf het echt wel charme! Het bed lag zalig, de donsdekens zijn wel vrij kort, voor mij (165cm) was het lang genoeg maar mijn vriendin (171cm) haar voeten staken er onder uit.. Het zwembad en de sauna waren fantastisch, het personeel is ook heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Enkel het ontbijt viel tegen, het was basic, op zich zeker alles wat je nodig hebt maar ik miste warme elementen zoals spek en ei (hiervoor moet je bijbetalen). De ramen in de ontbijtzaal stonden wagenwijd open en er kwamen zo veel wespen binnen, wat ik absoluut niet leuk vind als ik probeer te eten en aangevallen word door wespen 😅

It’s like travelling back in time at this hotel. Cute old hotel, that hasn’t been refurbed for quite a long time. It needs a hand in a lot of places, but still has the charm. Cleaning wasn’t great, found old crumbs on the carpet. The radiator was very noisy and woke me up every morning at 6 with banging noises. Was told they were aware and trying to fix it, but did not mention this at check-in.

Hotel is goed onderhouden. De bedden hebben matrassen van een hoge kwaliteit. Kamers zijn zuiver en alles werkt, geen gebreken kunnen ontdekken. Zwembad is een meerwaarde. Het binnenbad is het hele jaar geopend, het buitenbad zou eigenlijk pas in juli open gaan. Wij zijn in juni geweest, het buitenbad was geopend wat heerlijk was gezien de tropische trmperaturen. Het mooie grote terras heeft een prachtig uitzicht op het dal en het stadje.

We loved the pool area, but were disappointed not all the saunas and steam areas seemed to be working. The wellness area had outdated workout equipment but we loved the options for racquetball and ping pong. Getting here is a hassle if you don’t have a car. There is a grocery store and little toy shop very close to the hotel (but you’ll have to walk your groceries up hill to get back to the hotel without a car - Just a warning since we saw some unhappy faces as we drove past them). We loved the pool table downstairs in the bar and our balcony was spacious with great views. It seemed by the overall look of the hotel that it was luxurious back in its day of maybe the 80s or 90s. I didn’t mind it at all and would stay here again!

Flot hotel i rolige omgivelser. Stort dejligt værelse, der dog var bitterligt koldt. Vi havde ikke mulighed for at bruge swimmingpool mm pga vores egne planer. Dejlig morgenmad, der dog var til extra pris.

Sanitaire voorzieningen wat gedateerd. Mooie nieuwe sauna, maar wat verstopt en onduidelijk wat de gebruiken zijn (wel/geen badkleding). Badjas, badhanddoek en badslippers beschikbaar gesteld door het hotel. Helaas geen diner optie wegens afwezigheid van de kok. Zeer hulpvaardig personeel (ook bij het kiezen van een restaurant). Giftbag bij checkout.

Zimmer groß und sauber.Leider war der Koch krank,deshalb mußten wir immer auwärts zum Abendessen.Der abendliche Barbetrieb war auch nicht prickelnd,da wir unsere Getränke beim Concierge bestellen mußten(kein Personal?).Frühstück ausreichend,vielfältig.Sollte aber gleich im Angebotspreis enthalten sein.25 Euro pro Person zu hoch.Personal nett freundlich.

I have one point that they can do better. I also told it in the hotel. The wifi is nogt very good. Diner was good. People were very nice from the hotel. and the choice for breakfast was also good.

Netjes en schoon. Maar alles is op aanvraag. Er is een bar maar geen bar. Je moet bellen en dan komen ze een drankje brengen. Geldt ook voor de sauna. Gaat aan als je er om vraagt. Er is een restaurant maar niet echt. 5x per week is er 1 menu. 2 dagen dicht. Dus...meer dan prima voor je rust. Gezelligheid moet je hier niet zoeken.

Be very careful with this hotel! The hotel was a nice resort style place, although the rooms are a bit dated. The surprise came after my credit card was charged 300 euro for 12 breakfasts. I stated that we want to hold off on breakfast at checkin. The email reply from the hotel stated that if we don't specifically state that we didn't have breakfast on checkout they will charge for this. They didn't ask us if we had breakfast on checkout but charged my credit card, and stated that there is "nothing they can do" about the charge. Thus this amounts to a fraudulent charge. I am working with my bank to reverse this charge now....
